Pratt Lemon Park Food Drive Sat 3/6/2010
Pratt Lemon Park Food Drive Sat 3/6/2010
We're on for 3/6/2010!
Last year this event netted a over $500 for our local food bank, and they were of course ecstatic about that and the huge pile of food donated. Let's try to do that again. Maybe this year it'll be a little warmer than EIGHT DANG DEGREES. That was brutal.
The goal is to raise funds and food for the food bank, and for us to have a blast playing a unique and rarely available layout.
HERE IS THE PLAN:
Pratt Lemon Park Food Drive Sat 3/6/2010
Pratt Lemon Park KDGA Food Drive 2010
Saturday, March 6th
9am sign up
10am tee off
$20 Entry Fee (Receive a KDGA Food Drive disc with entry and a raffle ticket for the state-wide prizes.)
Format: Random draw doubles, Two rounds of 18
1 mulligan for 1 can of food
$2 mulligans before lunch. $5 mullies after lunch
$5 optional ace fund (100% goes to food bank if not hit)
Max of 9 mullies per individual for the day (liberal, use them when/whereever you want)
LUNCH: sloppy joes!! (free with additional cash donation to food bank)
This is a once-a-year only layout in a completely different park than our usual ... it is a fun and tricky layout with a mix of short technical shots, lefty and righty holes and a few picturesque bombers. The layout traverses two separate adjacent parks (Lemon Park and Sixth Street Park). With a mature wooded canopy and water hazard on several holes it makes for some very nice scenery along the way.
There is usually a portapotty in the park, otherwise no services except Ampride a few blocks away.
We will be moving the 18 Mach V baskets out of May Dennis Park into Lemon Park on Friday, March 5, 2010. The course should be ready to practice by mid afternoon on Friday. We'll tear down and return the baskets to May Dennis Park Sunday, March 7, 2010. It's a short time window. I hope you can all make it.
DIRECTIONS TO PARK:
From Hwy 54 (First Street), go South on Pine Street which turns into the entrance of Lemon Park. You'll see us.
PRIZES:
Everyone wins!! Your prize is your players pack disc. Winners, non-winners, and everyone else who plays or helps will receive a warm fuzzy feeling, knowing that they helped raise funds/food, with all net proceeds of this event going to the Pratt Food Bank.
If you have any questions, please call me at 620/672\ 6 3 3 2 or send a PM.
I'll post the photo tour soon...
HOPE TO SEE YOU HERE!

Lemon Park Photo Tour Online
Take note: this slide show says that it is the last saturday in february. That is innaccurate because it's last year's slide show. The 2010 date is March 6th!

Please shoot me a PM or post back on here if you're planning to come & brave the Lemon Park event. I need to know how much sloppy joe to prepare.
Water has ice on it now, maybe we'll see some skip-shots next week?

Re: Pratt Lemon Park Food Drive Sat 3/6/2010
.
I forgot to mention...
In addition to the $20 Entry fee and the Optional $5 Ace Fund Participation, we will have a:
$10 CTP Day Pass (Optional)
... which allows you to compete all day for a handful of worthy discs via Closest-to-Pin competition (during regular tourney play). The CTP Day Pass is completely optional.
It's another way to raise funds and win some extra prizes. And yes, the "water fairways" will be two of the CTPs!!
