KDGA Food Drive

Post by smitty »

Hello potential TD's of a KDGA Food Drive event.

We are looking to do a huge food drive during the months of January and February. Your event can be a registered Ice Bowl, or it can be independent of the Ice Bowl name. We don't want to take anything away from the Ice Bowls. We are looking to add to them and raise as much money and food as we can for local food banks.

The KDGA is in the process of purchasing several Discraft discs. We are getting different numbers of the following molds:Z Pre, Z Flick, ESP Avenger SS, Z and ESP Buzzz, ESP Meteor, ESP Force, Z and ESP Crush. The KDGA is ordering enough discs that we will receive a free Chainstar basket.

Here is the deal to you:

You can buy as many of these discs as you would like at the KDGA's cost. You must value these at $15 at your tournament. The difference of the $15 and the actual cost of the disc will also become a donation to your local food bank.

We are going to also raffle off the basket with that money also being added to the local food bank.

We are suggesting three main methods of running your event.

1) Charge a very low entry fee for your tourney. The minimum would have to be $15. Then give everyone who plays a disc at registration and no additional payout. Each player will go home with a disc and their name in the drawing for the basket.

2) Charge a low entry fee. Take all the discs that you could have used as players packs, and use them as a tourney payout instead. This would give more of the discs to fewer people.

3) The final method would be to run a normal tourney. Use however many discs you need to do payout. Buying them at a the KDGAs price, then valuing them at $15. The extra money would have to be used as a donation to the local food bank.

The KDGA will also be selling the discs for $15. When purchasing a disc, you will also get a raffle ticket. Once again, any money made off the discs will go the Kansas food bank.

Raffle tickets can also be purchased for $5 each. With the money from that being donated to the Kansas food bank.

The KDGA also suggest that the tourney be a mulligan fest, with money being donated to the local food bank. Cans of food could also be used to buy mulligans.

In closing, this is a no risk deal for the TD. If they request 20 discs and only 10 people show up. We will gladly take the 10 extra discs back.

PM me or call me if you have any questions or concerns.

Thanks,

This is good deal for TDs. It's good for food banks. It's a good deal for players. The KDGA keeps none of the proceeds but that's the way the ice bowls should be anyway.

We hope TDs will incorporate these special fundraiser discs into their tourneys however they can -- to benefit their local charity and the state charity!!

Remember each disc comes with a raffle entry. Plus 100% of that $5 raffle ticket goes to the Kansas Food Bank. That is killer!

You, the TD, can further encourage people to purchase raffle tickets and/or these discs by dishing out additional mullies in return. We plan to do that, in addition to our usual cans-for-mullies format.

At the Pratt Lemon Park ice bowl, we plan to incorporate these discs into the players pack, the CTPs and the prize pool, giving everyone plenty of opportunity to acquire one of these discs and an opportunity to win a very nice basket. At our event, still plan to use regular ice bowl plastic, but we're adding these KDGA fundraiser discs into the mix.

** Do it do it! **

Crispin mad a few changes to the stamp yesterday. The art has been sent to the factory, now we are waiting for a return message.

I think you will like the changes. The changes will allow the discs to be used anytime during the year for the same purpose.
