I was thinking that it would be cool to see what the official low round records are at different courses/configurations around the state...

we have strayed an awfull long way from ball golf... when was the last time you saw tiger playing agusta in coveralls, with a shaggy beard, and smoking a questionable substance?Friz-Rocker wrote:The forerunner to discgolf is ballgolf. Ballgolf does not recognize or acknowledge practice rounds as records and neither should we.There is no pressure.
I am all for comparisons of disc to stick golf, but please do not make the mistake of saying that disc golf resembles golf, they share a name and a few basic rules, that is pretty much where the simularities end.
Golf is a game of edicute, players are expected to police themselvs, and penalize themself. when was the last time you heard (hey guys I think I stepped on my mini, I am warning myself.
Disc golf shares par, the word, not the intent of the word, In golf par is defined by webster as
3 a : an amount taken as an average or norm b : an accepted standard; specifically : a usual standard of physical condition or health
4 : the score standard for each hole of a golf course; also : a score equal to par
- par adjective
- par for the course : not unusual : NORMAL
In disc golf par is 3
I really do not want this to turn into a hopper post, but I want to maintain clarity that golf and disc golf are about as simmular as darts and wwf wrestling.

as far as practice round, I am not sure what that is. When I play 90% of the time in non-league/tournament rounds, there is a wager (wager=pressure) Even when I play alone, I am competing with myself, and the course. As far as league, well if that isnt a practice round I do not know what is, even smaller tournaments I would say dont really qualify as pressure situations. I play golf at Berkshire country club here in Topeka they have the course record posted in the lounge, shot by the club pro, by himself... Intergrity???
