Disc Golf Tournament on a Ball Golf Course

A lot of Fly 18 style courses keep the baskets off the greens. This is a good precaution on a permanent course and of course keeps the discers from interfering with the golfers.
I could see how a country club might be more touchy than a typical public course. If staying off the greens is already part of the deal or they feel that would be best, by all means. I was just trying to qualm the mass panic that comes up on that issue.

No reason to be on the greens, period. Besides the fairways will be nicer than anything WE have played on anyway (irrigation). Playing on the greens is not that big of a deal. Playing on a ball golf course, with beer, IS.
Should make it a one round ball, one round disc, one round (at the bar afterwards) golden tee tourney!

Well if it respect for thecourse better not have beer available . i haven't seen a disc golf course in Kansas yet that didn't have beer cans laying around every tee pad. i'm sure the elks would love to pick up 4 cases of cans from the course after we leave. Its Jack Assery you have to watch out for. If he shows up, whether he is dancing on the greens, watering the greens, or mooning the neighbors.... I won't be good. You just have to have some respect for the course. That's something everyone understands.

I haven't see a course in Kansas yet that didn't have beer cans around 50% of the tee pads. I don't think the Elks would be to happy to have to go around and clean up 4 cases of cans from thier course. if you think it is posible to leave the course clean than why arn't the disc golf course clean?

Whoa, I'm seeing triple.
Not trying to rile anyone up over nothing. I'm sure the CC will be selling the beer. With the carts and the trash cans on every hole, there shouldn't be any problems. All I was saying was that if there was any reason the CC wouldn't want to have discers again, it would be because of someone being stupid rather than because of the golf. NOT that that would be likely to happen.

Well according to my source, which always Trumps your source, greens & T's are no go zone's for disc golf.Mace Man wrote:Some of the cart paths won't be good to throw from. So they might be from the t'sdisc golf superhero wrote:
We won't be using the T's either. Disc Golf T's will be from the cart path.
I really think that you are going to want to avoid teeing from the fairways also. If you have 70 people throw from the same spot, you are going to destroy the grass.
Tee from the rough, throw over and down the fairways.
Greens are OB
UD from the bunkers
I throw on the golf course a ton. Long bomb after long bomb are no fun. There are no trees off the tees or around the greens.
The rough is were you need to play disc golf. That is where you will find trees and the things that make disc golf fun.
