The west side has cement tees and multiple pin placements. The east side has cement sleeves, but not cement tees. So it's kinda temp. kinda permanent.

Just curious if a large green Discraft towel made it's way into the lost and found. I got home and it was not in my bag; would appreciate having it back if someone found it.

rated scores

click here for rated scores on PDGA, par 47 entered for each course

You asked for it, you got it. :)

Nate, no green towels were turned in. Did you get full color USADGC Buzz with the Skill Shot and trophy? I think I forgot to add the disc to your prize package.

Who left a Mizuno cap, and a burnt orange Big Cluck tee shirt? Claim it now, or maybe we should start a new tradition...first place Am gets a years worth of lost and found goodies as an incentive to move up.

Thanks Chiz-

I thought all 4 of my rounds might have been 1000, darn.

That look weird, with +1 as my final score. Is that based on the course par?

Ratings

Post by DustyRhyno »

Chris, you might have shot 1000+ each round. We'll have to see when the official ratings are calculated. My gut tells me that those are a bit low.(at least I hope they are.)

1000 round is 47

Post by bigchiz »

I entered 47 for par, which is a rounded up SSA from last years layout, and the year before. The +1 must be based on that.

Smitty, one shot better in round 3 and you would have all four 1000+ rounds, for all practical purposes. 998 is "close enough".

Why would SSA be the same this year as it was last year? The courses were noticeably more difficult.

SSA

Post by bigchiz »

Jon: The courses might be a 48 instead of 47, probably not up to a 49 though. Everyone can probably add about 15 points to each round. We will see once it becomes "official".

Nate: We're still looking for a USADGC SCSO Buzz. There were only two left after prizing them out, and they might have been sold. I kept one for our disc golf room, wall art. If none others turn up I'll send it to you.

Since we're on the topic of SSA (scratch) and WCP (World Class Par)...

Somebody said it looks strange to have a + score compared to par with really good rounds at the Shoot-out.

Take a look at the results of the High Plains Challenge. Fourth place Open shot "-10 compared to par", and didn't have any rounds over 1000. Isn't 1000 THE par standard? In reality he shot about 7 over WCP.

Anyway, that's where I'm coming from on the par issue. Maybe it's wrong, but I don't know any better. :)

No problem Chiz... although if I were to guess, I would say a 48 is closer to WCP than a 47. You are probably right though.. 49 would be stretching it.

WCP and a course's Par are not the same thing. A course's Par is what any average golfer should and could shoot. WCP (1000 rated round) is what a World Class Pro should shoot. 2 totally different numbers. That is why a guy could shoot way under, and not have a single round over 1000.

So there's a Pro par (wcp) and an Am par (average guy). Interesting. Thanks Jon!

Nice four rounds of >1000 rated disc golf there Smitty. That first round of 1030 is your second best for the season, and your tourney average is 1015. Saweet. :)

Interesting how McCabe got a 1038 rating on the same course for the same score in the last round. There was a little bit of wind, maybe player fatigue across the board plays a factor too.
