LRDGC WEDNESDAY LEAGUE
Re: LRDGC WEDNESDAY LEAGUE
will be heading down to the park to clean the pads off in the am.
Re: LRDGC WEDNESDAY LEAGUE
I may be parking my car at the McQueen baseball complex on Wednesday and walking the rest of the way.
You all remember the last time we got in the DG course parking lot with this much snow in it?

Re: LRDGC WEDNESDAY LEAGUE
All 18 pads are clean. Tried to pack the down the parking lot. I will have my 4 wheel drive if someone needs a ride.
Re: LRDGC WEDNESDAY LEAGUE
2-12 Salt City Iditarod results.
3 brave souls showed up to take on a melting but still very snow laden Carey Park. Thankfully the air temps were comparatively pleasant in relation to the last couple of weeks. I do want to thank Mr. Chisholm for shoveling the pads yesterday, which made launching drives a lot easier.

Could have taken Mike to extra innings, but my par putt on 18 missed and picked the wrong time to find smooth crusty topped snow, and it just kept on sliding. Missed my come back putt and had to settle for a five.
Also took a few action snapshots for you "stuck at work" folks.

Ace fund to $138 for Saturday league (remember, its at Bushwood).
Next Wednesday is BUHLER week. GLOW will follow the afternoon round if we can get a few who want to play. We are making our first time change of the year next week to 4:45. Hopefully that (and some much needed warming) will increase our attendance a bit.

Re: LRDGC WEDNESDAY LEAGUE
Played a couple rounds in B-town Monday. Snow was gone, but the trench area that runs along holes 1, 6, 7 and 9 is a bit muddy. Tried playing glow after the sun went down and my first shot ended up in that crap and I fried one of my lights. We will proceed though with glow after regular league though, just thought that I'd forwarn folks. I may invest in some glow tape and a UV flashlight as a backup method. Still have some lights for sale.
I did the math and the Ace fund is at $151.

Re: LRDGC WEDNESDAY LEAGUE
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in trying a slightly different format for Buhler next month.
DOUBLE DRIVE FORMAT
Instead of the tradition of two shots on the first hole, we would throw two shots on all of them, and then play out both lies. You would have to use a different disc for the second drive. On upshots (do we even have those in Buhler? well, I do sometimes) and putts, you would be free to use a disc, mark the lie with a mini if necessary, then use the same disc to play out your other lie.
I would have special scorecards made. Each player will have two rows of boxes. On the upper row, they put the better of their two results, and other in the lower row. So your scorecard might look something like this....

At the end of the round, each player adds up their two rows as usual. Then the two results are averaged. That average is their final round score. As you can see in the above example, you can have this score end on a half stroke, which would help in breaking ties.
One problem is that this would double the amount of tee shots on an already short course, it doubles the possibility of an ace. Perhaps we should have special rule for second drive aces.
Just thought I'd raise the suggestion. We got a few weeks to mull this over.

Ace fund goes to $199 for this weekend. Due to the KDGA Kickoff tourney in Newton, I do not know if we are going to do Saturday league in Hutch, piggyback it onto one of the rounds in Newton, or possibly do both, or neither.

Remember Daylight Savings Time starts this weekend, so league time changes....
Wednesday league - Next week moves to 5:30 PM
Sunday league - This will be the last week of 1:00 PM league. Starting 3/16, it will be moved back to 10:00 AM.
Saturday league - Assumably going on Saturday as normal. Zack will have confer whether he wishes to continue this into Spring. Tournament season is starting up and that's going to deplete some would be players.
Speaking of tournaments, remember MAC Attack is a week from this Saturday. Get signed up.
