Darren stated to me after league that the club ace pot will not be in play at the Redskin Rendezvous on Sunday, so your next crack at it will be next Wednesday. Remember next week is Buhler week. Perhaps the third time will be a charm for some lucky LRDGC member.

Re: LRDGC WEDNESDAY LEAGUE

We were having a little discussion about the "3 wins and you need to move up" rule last night, and concluded that this logic is going to eventually result in there being no Am division left, unless there's a counter rule to allow people to move back down. To me "wins" are meaningless as they are often the result of who shows up and plays your division on whatever particular day. A better barometer is how well you are playing in your division consistently, versus how you would do had you been up or down a notch.

So going back to July 17, I have started adding "(Win-Loss-Tie) Win %" to the league results. Black numbers refer to how you did that week against your division. Blue numbers refer to how you did against the division above you. Red numbers refer to how you did against the division below you.

If you start seeing black numbers above 75% consistently, and blue numbers that are at least 25%, maybe its time to move up.

If you start seeing black numbers that are below 25% consistently, and red numbers that are below 75%, maybe you would be okay coming back down.

Glad to see that this issue was discussed. It had been bothering me a lot last night, as I'm sure it showed. I'm going to have to study those numbers a bit longer to make sense of them for now, my brain and body is too exhausted right now.

I came up with another possible solution if he's worried about somebody stealing the Am pot week-to-week. Since players in attendance makes a huge difference on the complexion of divisions, it might be in the League's best interest to scrap the choose-your-own division and do a blind split payout.

SPLIT BY NUMBER OF PLAYERS IN ATTENDANCE (12 players; 6 split) OR BY AVERAGE SCORE OF FIELD (59.25); in this case the split is the same.

Tier 1:
Player 1 53
Player 2 54
Player 3 54
Player 4 55
Player 5 57
Player 6 58

Tier 2:
Player 7 60
Player 8 61
Player 9 63
Player 10 64
Player 11 65
Player 12 67

Play in whatever groups you want, or determine a way to divide into groups before tee off. When you get the scores back in, split the field by average score or by number of players. Resulting payout is Tier 1 (cash) and Tier 2 (vouchers).

OK the win three an move up rule was just an idea to protect the am player, at that time we also created the lower am division. it was not my intention to complacate the league, honestly i was hoping i could point some of the upper am players in the dirrection of the pro card to intensify the challenge on that card.if you play up you do learn tricks of the game that will make you a better player, the only way to get comfortable at the next level is play there. there are several good players in our ranks who have the potential to be great pro players (you know who you are). From this point on the three wins and move up rule is no longer in affect sorry if it caused any hardships on any players. Like my friends at Millennium say KEEP IT SIMPLE
see you on the course

I think that the "three win" rule was more of a guideline, not so much a rule. It worked well like that I suppose. Its something like an "honor system", we all know what we shoot, put ourselves where we fell we should be. I'm not terribly concerned for where everyone else is, I just assume that is where they should be. If folks are "sand baggin", let em bag sand, and if someone is in pro that shouldn't be, mad props bro! Cats shootin fantastic, outdoing pros, and don't wanna step up, cool, expect some crap talk! Its all in fun and that's the sole purpose (fun, not crap talkin unless you play with tom Darren dale Bubba) :)

See you cats next Wednesday, I'll be that dude on the Pro Card, getting me ass handed to me!

After we get finished Wednesday and get tags distributed, for those who would be interested and have enough wind left in them (c'mon people its Buhler), we might do an impromptu game of Knockout, which we did as an event at the Carey Park Thursday night league skills contest. For those who are uninitiated, here is an example from the basketball game it is derived from. Just imagine a disc golf basket in the basketball hoop's place, and the added fun of people getting conked in the head with putters.

Your "entry fee" will be your bag tag. Tags will be redistributed in order of finish.

Which course and what time?
