ACDGC Derby League

Post by Schoen-hopper »

Marty Hunt will be running league at Derby on the 1st and 3rd Monday's of the month, starting in March. On the next schedule update, I'll get these added in.

-March 4th, 4:30 pm (early tee due to daylight constraints), Singles. Good warm up for the ForeFathers Fling if you can make it.

-Marth 18th, 5:30 pm. Doubles.

Starting in April, start time will be 6pm.

Iqbal, looks like the March 18th event will conflict with your league event. Otherwise no conflicts between your new PDGA league and the ACDGC league. Marty has been wanting to start a regular ACDGC league at Derby for some time now. Hopefully this will make it easier for everyone to figure out when league will be at Derby.

Monday at Derby - Doubles from the possible alternate tee sites. Marcus and I walked the course and marked possible locations for alternate tee pads. will be working with the city to see about putting in a second set of tees. Come Monday and give us some feedback!

Some tree damage at the course in Derby - May have to re-route a couple of holes if the city doesn't have the limbs cleared by Monday evening. Main problem is #15- we lost the cottonwood tree beside the pond.

We drove by the course on our way home from Winfield on Saturday. From what we could see around 5 pm Saturday afternoon, the tree by 15's tee pad toppled away from the water, toward the tee pad. It was laying on the rocks/tee pad and the hole wouldn't be playable from the pad. An alternate tee 10-15 feet to the right of the original pad or further back would probably work. Once the tree is cleaned up, yes, it will be a wide-open easy throw on hole 15.

A shot across the water from over by 14's pad would be cool. If you didn't want to risk throwing over, you could bail out towards the current pad. Still, the landing area would be too small for some skill levels and there would be a luck factor for people aiming at the trees.
