Re: 2012 Doo Dah (Wichita) - June 9 - 10
Hole 2 at HH. dirt piles all along broadway as far in and covering the long tee pad. (think thats the blue pad). Out side route compleatly cut off now. Looks like for the doodah we are going to have to play the short pad and throw through the trees for both rounds.

Or we can play both pads and the right handers can throw through the gut like the hole was designed. I have always wondered about a right side mando for this hole so we will see how people play it from there. From the right pad you might have to throw a forehand.

I heard the opposite, that the short pad was the one covered up. Will check into this.
Re: 2012 Doo Dah (Wichita) - June 9 - 10
If anything is covered up, it is the short pin and the tee pad to the right, which is the shorter one. Not a huge deal if we have to play the same hole twice.
Re: 2012 Doo Dah (Wichita) - June 9 - 10
The red/short pad is covered with tons of dirt. Both BASKETS WERE PLAYABLE LAST NITE from the Blue/Long pad. Temp pads or holes will be decided when DD gets here Friday. With all the construction going on, all of this might change by Friday. (Good, Bad and/or Ugly).

I will be at Herman Hill by 3:00 Friday to take registration and get doubles going. The DD RV will be rolling in sometime after that, and we will get the full spread going inside the water center for the weekend.
Doubles- $20/team you must have at least 2 groups to start, playing the Red course. 3:00-7:00

I did not get a chance to see what was on the course maps this year, but there likely will be a few things that are not noted on the maps unless they are printed overnight tonight. Remember that this list is not final, but whatever the TD (Jeremy Rusco) decides will be final. Just a heads up here on some changes from last years map (I haven't seen this years map). Good luck everyone!
Herman Hill Park
*Hole 1. The sidewalk on the right side of the hole is dugout and we cannot play in this area. OB on the right side is fairly clear, but I flagged it with red flags anyway. Where the grass ends and the dirt begins. Draw a line between the flags.
*Hole 2.
-Mike and I strung the OB along the right side with red flags. Important to note that the new sidewalk and across is OB for the 2nd half of the hole. I put a couple of red flags down to remind everyone.
-There is a new red tee not far from the blue one. Bob wanted a shorter tee, I wanted a longer one because it was a better lefty hole. So we compromised and put it in the middle. Flagged with red flags. What I didn't see was that there is a hyzer for the big arms. Not what I intended, but it has a decent risk reward factor to throwing this route and all the OB is clearly marked.
*Hole 3/9. New sidewalk and across OB long of both of these pins. I put some yellow flags down for a reminder.
*Holes 6/7. There are actually 2 mando trees on each hole. Orange drop zone flags always to the left for all mandos at Herman Hill (and at Oak).
*Hole 16. The area by the creek was strung off and marked with some yellow flags. Sidewalk is all safe on this hole. Pond and creek to the North is OB as normal.
*River. Not strung this year. The disc has to be on top, or at least partially on top, to be safe. Take a picture if in doubt. Safe or not, the player will mark 1 meter from the agreed OB line. No need to play a provisional shot in this case.
*Hole 10. I flagged the landscaping by the parking lot. (No changes).
*Hole 12. I flagged the sidewalk. (No changes). The two short segments of sidewalk going from the road to the bridge, before and after the pond, is safe. The bridge and that sidewalk and everything across is OB. The pond is OB.
Oak Park
*Hole 5. Where path connects with road is flagged. (No changes).
*Hole 8. Sidewalk is NOT OB. (No changes).
*Hole 9. Fence around Scout House is OB.
*Hole 17. The OB line for the stream can be a little unclear in the area near the reeds. Players should know that if the disc is dray supported by reeds or tall grass, but the area is surrounded by water, the disc is OB. Has to be touching dry ground to be safe.

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO MADE IT OUT!
Huge thanks to Mike Speer for running out water jugs and taking care of all thankless jobs. Bigger thanks to Melissa for letting a bunch of strangers invade you house and do what we do.
I was lucky enough to watch Crispin slaughter both courses. Both rounds I played with him he killed it, great shot after great shot. Even when he would screw, he was able to recover with a killer upshot or nasty putt. It was a real pleasure to watch him just destroy the place. Great Job on a well earned victory.
