2 meter rule
I know there's confusion out there
but, the "2 meter rule" is in effect for 2005 unless a TD specifically states that it does not apply.
Its a long story as to why the PDGA board left it "in play" but, that's just the way it is.
Sorry Eric but the "2 meter rule" will apply.

Re: 2 meter rule
I am not complaining, just asking. You are the TD, so why don't you just say "the 2m rule is not in effect"? I have played several tourneys this year where the TD did this and it was great (and perfectly legal)! You can abide by the rules and take away the 2m rule, unless I did not understand the PDGA's stance on this issue.Eaglehigh99 wrote:I know there's confusion out therebut, the "2 meter rule" is in effect for 2005 unless a TD specifically states that it does not apply.

Don, you are correct but the TD must report such to the PDGA and I'm just plain lazy.
Really, there are a few holes where the 2 meter rule really needs to be in play to avoid the "I'm going to bomb over the top and take my chances. If I get stuck in a tree, I'll get to take a "no cost drop" next the the basket and still get my duece."
Its simply less confusing to leave it in play on all holes.
The statistics show about a 50/50 split on this rule so, since we'll upset half the crowd either way we go, we'll leave the 2 meter rule in play.
Update on sponsorships (Smitty thought you'd be interested):
Cash - about $900; Merchandise & trophies - about $800; restaurant sponsors - 2 for 1 coupons worth about $11 per player for the first 100 players -- and we still have a few more sponsorships that we hope to get in.

Now where is the Player list??
Bob:
It is my understanding that next year there will be no 2 meter rule Is this correct?
If so, your laziness aside what other reason would you not drop the highly contriversial rule? Will you be providing 2 meter sticks so the integrity of a rule that is going away will be preserved?
Are you redesigning the courses for next year so that the Bomb over the top is taken out of the equasion?
I just do not like the 2 meter rule very well anyway...

TD's discretion
TD's discretion is just that, if anyone doesn't like his decision, please let the ACDGC BOD's know so we can discuss your volunteer status for TD next year. We welcome your help & efforts.
When the rule is gone there will be no TD's discretion until then TD's will make the call. Get over it guys, let it go.......
NO WHINING! ONLY WINNING! beware the trees.
BTW
McCabe is the 2 meter rule in effect for Glass Blown this year?
I hate that rule.... and your Pine trees.....
