Fore!Fathers Fling: Sat. March 10th, Derby
Re: Fore!Fathers Fling: Sat. March 10th, Derby
2012 OZ tour WILL be kick-started Saturday @ Derby. Killer turn out last year. Must be because of the fun course and Handeye Hospitality. As my distinguished colleague has already articulated, GET SOME.

Werd is Crispin and crew are throwing down the string on the course again this year to clear up any OB confusion. Lots of work here.

I'll see if I can't bring my mini basketo out to Busters. Beware of crossfire.
Re: Fore!Fathers Fling: Sat. March 10th, Derby
Don't let the weather forecast scare you away, this is a cant miss event. The city of derby maintains this course VERY well, tons of prizes and at least $500 in added cash, not to mention a sweet player pack. BE THERE!

They took the rain out of the forecast until tommorow night. Let's do this thing!

My grandson is 3 today and will be staying with me over the weekend. I plan on trying to play if grandma will watch the critter.
Re: Fore!Fathers Fling: Sat. March 10th, Derby
I've been told about the CTP prizes and all the added cash. I'd just like to encourage everyone to stay home tomorrow
Nothin to see here, folks.

Thanks Hand-Eye Corp. for a great event. The turnout proves what kind of event it was. And we know you guys will continue to make it better each year. It is rare to enjoy a bad round, but that first one was a surprisingly good time. As the open field grows, so improves the competition. Truly enjoy competing against the course, nature, and you guys.

Well said, Nasty.
Poor ol Kingpin is gonna have to be ready with online registration next year. And it is no wonder everyone turned out: the sheer tonnage of swag that was given away was obscene. We ran out of daylight because it took so long to give out all that gear and cash.
An off the cuff list of the things that got doled out via ctp's, upshot competitions, and ring of fire include:
My guess is that Kingpin hasn't posted yet because the list of people that volunteered, donated, and/or drummed up sponsors would break the internet. That or he is in a coma.
The course looked amazing and played waaaaaaay quicker and safer with the 4500' of OB string. Still a full house, but at least no one was ever playing towards you in your fairway.
Huge thanks to the city crew for all the clean-up/maintenance/porto-johns/etc... and also to Marty Hicks (I hope I got that right) for spreading mulch. Would've been a looooong day with clay boots. (Marty, my black PDGA disc is a Stratus not a Stalker but I've got both a Z and ESP Stalker with the KC Worlds stamp. If one of those works for you, say the word.)
Had a great card both rounds. The second round didn't even feel like a tournament--just another round with my home-away-from-home crew. It was HandEye heavy towards the top
Sounded like Vahsholtz switched over to "automatic" mode for the second round. Congrats!
Thanks be to King, HandEye, and all the folks that put this humdinger together. I hope every KDGA season starts with bash down in Derby.

Re: Fore!Fathers Fling: Sat. March 10th, Derby
If you were in Derby for the Player Meeting you will appreciate how SHORT this post will be.
-THANK YOU TO EVERYONE OF THE 90 PLAYERS that made it out to Derby on Saturday. No Rain and the course was looking top notch!!!
-THANK YOU TO ALL THE SPONSORS AND EVERYONE WHO HELPED!!!:
