Wellington Disc Golf Club is hosting an Ace Race on the first available day allowed by Discraft.
Be one of the first in the area to try the new prototype Disc Discraft.
Ace Race Info For Players
When:
August 8th 2010 at 10:00 am
Format:
Two rounds of 18 holes, one throw per hole per player.
Course layout:
Holes are generally between 180 and 250 feet.
Entry fee: $25
Player package:
The 2010 player pack includes two identical Discraft prototype discs made especially for Ace Race, plus a SuperColor mini, premium hat, sticker and a die-cast chrome bag tag. A $67 value!
Rules of play:
Players are required to use the player package discs, and only these discs. If a disc is lost, the player has the option of using the second disc from the package. Only one throw per player per hole. All players should have their own scorecards and mark "A" for aces (a hole-in-one) and "M" for holes on which they hit metal.
After all players in the group have thrown, discs are picked up and the group moves directly to the next tee. Players keep their scorecards for round two, using the next line on the card to record the round.
The player with the most aces after 36 holes is declared the winner. In case of ties, the number of metal hits is used as a tie breaker. If a tie persists, a closest to the pin contest is then used to determine the event winner.
Prize package:
Grand prize for each event is a Discraft merchandise package, including a bag and eight new discs. There will be extra prizes donated by the Wellington Disc Golf Club.

Re: Wellington Ace Race August 1st
There seems to be some difficulty with the discs.
I have not recieved the discs.....
I am thinking that we will need to move the Ace Race to Sunday August 8th.
If you have been discussing coming with someone, please let them know about the difficulty. Further information will be posted here.

Re: Wellington Ace Race August 1st
I have now recieved the players packages. So the date for the Wellington Ace Race is officially going to be
August 8th with 10 am teetime
The Ace Race was originally scheduled for the 7th, but we decided to move it due to the Mulvane Tournement. I think that is why the discs arrived late.

Here is pictures of the 2010 Ace Race Disc

Players have been asking for something more overstable, and in our 8th year we finally decided to give in. Here you go, sports fans!
The 2010 Ace Race prototype is a fast, overstable midrange. It has good speed for a mid, longer glide than you'll expect, and a medium strong finish. When you turn it over it will always come back unless you really torque it. Will hold a line in a moderate to strong headwind. We are looking forward to hearing the chains you ring with it!
