Club Membership
Should we instate a Monday nite club fund??
Benefits of being a Monday nite club member.
1) Qualify for half the Ace fund.
2) Get club discs at a discounted rate.
3) Club will replace any ace disc with the current run of the same model (A Roc is a Roc).
If a non club member hits an ace, they are able to win a free club membership.
Please chime in with ideas and changes.

Re: Club Membership
How much are you thinking the club fee should be? Didn't know if possible or not, i was thinking maybe have the members pay like a extra five dollars on top of what you was thinking so the club could by a bulk of disc to give away as ctp and longest putt prizes? i am sure you know the right guy to get a good deal on discs this would be fun

Re: Club Membership
I think it would be fine to have a fee for like $10 or $15 and get a disc (or shirt or something) when you sign up.

Re: Club Membership
And not necessarily a yearly fee, I think we could do "lifetime" memberships.

Re: Club Membership
Not to hurt anyone's feelings but the more fees the less attractive for some people. I understand the concept of trying to make things better but if there is a constant change then one can never get used to one way. When some things are getting dull to some, it is still great for others. I have not been around a lot lately and might need to re-learn the game but I hope opinions are still taken into consideration. Peace out !!!!

Re: Club Membership
I think that people that don't want to pay a club membership could pay $4 on league nights instead of the $5 and just not be eligible for the ace fund, so it maybe we could make it cheaper not join. Then we wouldn't discourage any players.
Re: Club Membership
Here is what I think.
1) You need to pay club fees every year. You should get something in return a shirt or disc.
2) The price should be the same for all players at league.
3) You need to be a member to get discounted discs and ace fund on Monday.
**Things like discs so that people can have access to them, cement tee pads, new basket locations, players packs at tourneys, club picnics, even a new course don't just happen. They all cost money. The way that things have been done in the past don't allow for any of that to happen.

Re: Club Membership
I don't see why we need to be like every other club out there. I like doing things that set us apart. I agree with Cliff that if we ask people to fork up $15 every year, we may not get any "new guys" and limit ourselves to the same old crew.smitty wrote: 1) You need to pay club fees every year. In regards to the ace fund, we always say, "You gotta be in it, to win it.". If only members are eligible to win the ace fund, what's the point of making non-members pay for something they can't win?smitty wrote: 2) The price should be the same for all players at league.
Agreed.smitty wrote: 3) You need to be a member to get discounted discs and ace fund on Monday.
Also agreed, but sounds a little Brian-ish!smitty wrote: **Things like discs so that people can have access to them, cement tee pads, new basket locations, players packs at tourneys, club picnics, even a new course don't just happen. They all cost money.
Re: Club Membership
If you want to call it a club fine, Discs for the club fine. But why not sit down with the "same old guys" and come up with a long term goal that we would like to reach. Maybe plans on another course around town or more tee pads.
We could charge the same amount for everyone and know that some of the money every week is putting us that much closer to our goal!

Re: Club Membership
Also we have all been playing under the "WVDGA" name so will the Monday nite club be called something else or not?
If we are the WVDGA then why not push towards making the grove a course playable all year or moving those baskets to somewhere in town that
we can make a more useable course. The grove is great in the colder weather but the city dont want to keep it mowed and campers are always in the way.
I think we could sit down with Mark from the city and come up with a place that may work alot better.

I totally agree on this, lets make some goals i bet we can achieve them by knowing what we are trying to achieve.M&Ms wrote: But why not sit down with the "same old guys" and come up with a long term goal that we would like to reach. Maybe plans on another course around town or more tee pads.

I think winfield in running out of places put a disc golf course, but there is a really spot in ark city down at the bike trails on the north side of town by the roundabout.M&Ms wrote: If we are the WVDGA then why not push towards making the grove a course playable all year or moving those baskets to somewhere in town that

Re: Club Membership
The baskets down at the grove are Harvey's baskets, and if somebody tried to move them and install them at a new course I am sure they would no longer be available for use. They need to stay at the grove.
Re: Club Membership
Thats why I was looking at a place here in town.It makes no sence to leave them there where they are not and can not be used. If we had a place that would be more user friendly then I'm sure that it would not be a no brainer to move the baskets. Thats is why he has them is to use them right,Not so some guy can hold up his tent
That is just one idea anyway. There maybe other thing that we come up with that maybe more pressing that we want to do.Besides if we put in anouther course then when we hold turnys it would open up alot of things for us. More spots for more players= more funds =bigger payouts=better turnys the next year and so no.
And in all thats what we would love to see anyway right?
