I just watching the points that mikes post in the KDGA point standings forums. I notice that It has the list broken up by division and people are listed in spisific divisions.. . I also like to look at the lists the th TDs list after their tourneys. Such as the Monkey tick, and so on. I notice that even though some on may be in Advance division In the KDGA points standing list they can still drop down to a lower division and Sandbag and still get points for the KDGA points race. Just wondering if this just over looked. I know ou basicly get points and the same amount no matter what division you play in so it may not really affect your points any how. But my thinking is this.. It may effect some one elses point. Lets say an advance went on line to sign up and saw that three OPEN players decided to drop down to a lower level to play the tourney. He may then decide its not worth it to play and does not get his points.
Just wondering if this even matters....lol... probably not...lol

How KDGA point awarded?

Re: How KDGA point awarded?
Doesn't matter. You get points based on your score. Divisions are really used only for the tourney payout.
I really think for the most part people play in the correct division at most KDGA events. Some play lower at
PDGA events, which I really have no problem with.
There are 3 levels of KDGA events. The big 5 are triple points, yhe next 10 are double points, and the rest are single point. You get a point for playing, and a point for every person you beat.

Actually 6 triple points events: these are the 2 day events. You should get rewarded for attending these.smitty wrote:Doesn't matter. You get points based on your score. Divisions are really used only for the tourney payout.

The points are awarded like this: 1 point for attending & 1 point for every current member that you beat. Division doesn't matter. Ties receive the "average" point value for the tied places.
For Ice Bowl events, you have to be current. For events up to Beloit, you can get past points if you sign up at or before Beloit. After Beloit, you can only get points for past tournaments back to Beloit.
As far as division, I don't think it matters if people play different ones. An advanced players that wins all the time is a bigger bagger than one who occassionally donates in open, though some people think the opposite way on that. I think on KDGA division (for points), people should enter for the higher of the 2 divisions they typically play. When the lowest am division has a couple guys at 600 points and the rest of the 30-some am members have less than 200 points, the points race probably isn't as much fun for these people new to the KDGA.
Re: How KDGA point awarded?
Is it a point for everyone you beat in your division, or the whole tournament?
Re: How KDGA point awarded?
Entire tournament, divisions don't matter for how points are awarded.

PDGA points, I believe, are different. You only get points for those in your divisions, with a different multiplier for different divisions.
For KDGA points, its even ground for everyone. For example: if you have 25 members at a given event, the top finishing member gets 25 points, regardless of what division they play. Double that for a double points event & so on. Minimum number of points the winner will get is 10 in case there are less than 10 members in attendance, which doesn't happen very often.
