Colwich is known for terrible conditions! Been pretty nice the last couple years, but rain, snow, extreme wind, it's all included in the package.

It has been postponed in the past. Two of the first three years in fact due to snow. I would look for another date now. Even Sunday would be better than Sat but I don't think the snow is going to be gone by then.

That forecast does keep getting worse & worse. The snow could blow through before Saturday. Maybe 3-5 inches on the ground possible though.

Holy crap that would be awesome. We didn't get a very good snow all winter. If the weather is going to be this crappy I might just have to come out and play in the snow!

here is part of the latest discussion from the NWS. they suggest 1-2 ft now.
i cant say i have ever seen it snow so late in the season, let alone possible record amounts.
of course anyone predicting snow this year hasnt been very reliable.

EACH MODEL IS STILL SHOWING A SWATH OF HEAVY SNOW...WITH COBB SNOW
AMOUNTS EVEN SHOWING AN IMPRESSIVE 37.5 INCHES FOR WESTERN KINGMAN
COUNTY. WHILE NOT TAKING THIS OUTPUT VERBATIM...INDICATIONS HAVE
BEEN FOR A SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM ACROSS A PORTION OF THE FORECAST
AREA. MANY INGREDIENTS FOR A MAJOR WINTER STORM WILL BE IN
PLACE...PLENTY OF MOISTURE...INSTABILITY...A STRONG TROWAL...AND
LONG DURATION OF SNOWFALL FOR SOME AREAS. THE COMBINATION OF HEAVY
SNOW (1 TO 2 FEET IS QUITE POSSIBLE FOR A PORTION OF SOUTH CENTRAL
KANSAS) AND 25 TO 35 MPH WINDS WILL CAUSE SIGNIFICANT SOCIETAL
IMPACTS WITH SIGNIFICANT BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF SNOW REDUCING
VISIBILITIES. RECORD SNOWFALL FOR A SINGLE STORM AT WICHITA
MID-CONTINENT AIRPORT IS 15 INCHES ON JANUARY 17-18 1962.

SNOW WILL GRADUALLY END FROM WEST TO EAST ON SATURDAY...AND WINDS
WILL GRADUALLY WEAKEN AS THE SYSTEM PULLS AWAY TO THE NORTHEAST.

Yeah, that sounds crazy. Even with the new bridges..... If it snows that much, the creek may flood. It would be a gamer round, that is fo sho.

Well if you end up cancelling, I will probably be able to come, since I couldn't really this weekend anyway.

:( Ok its going to be postponed, with the nasty incoming weather and earlyer this week Colwich got 2.5 inch of rain in few hours so the creek is really flooded. We are not sure about the saftey of the bridges. With that and the bad weather and possible bad driving conditions that come with it. Its on hold. The new date will be forth coming.
Sorry
