Mike ran event
HH Park
Long Tees
Long Pins
21 Players
Ace fund at $439
Open (7)
Mike: 58
Crispin: 59
Chad: 59
Handicap (13)
Robin: 67-12=55
Peter: 66-11=55
Debra: 69-10=59
Josh Luinstra: 68-8=60
Ron Richert: 68-8=60
This is the first time we have played long tees and long pins for singles that I remember. May have happened more than a couple years ago.
Robin & Deb: I have your winnings in the club house. Sorry it took so long to get done with league. Congrats to these two for beating a lot of the guys straight up on the all long layout.
Scores that were thrown out:
Jason Adkins: 73. >13 strokes above ave.
Tony Guerrero: 78. >10 strokes above ave.
Josh Hull: 68. >11 strokes above ave.
Grant Summers: 73. >14 strokes above ave.
Some notes on this part of the system. Rounds are thrown out very rarely (about 2% of all rounds). That's why it isn't quite right to throw out 4 scores in one night. This is likely because the layouts we've been throwing in league have averaged around the short side. I'm trying to keep it balanced. Check out the updated schedule. I want to stick to the using the system consistently though. This is much better than policing everyone's card to determine who is playing to pad their handicap rather than to win.

My apology to everyone for the disorganization. Got home from work around 5pm. I left my league book in my house. Had make a stop to donate some discs to a youth group who will be playing Saturday.
The handicaps guesses were not quite right. Andy should have taken 1st and Tim 2nd. So we all owe Andy. I have $4 for him in addition to the money we have for him in the clubhouse, but we owe him more than that.
Next Tuesday is short tees singles at Herman Hill. I'll post back with the updated handicaps.

Looks like we have red tees at Oak tomorrow. Next Thursday is Derby, btw. We haven't been getting very much attendance out there, but I think part of the reason is I'm not getting the word out well enough.
Something you will notice tomorrow is that the pads and the baskets have been painted red and blue.
The numbers on the pads have been repainted to make it easier to see. Triangles like at HH at the front of the pad were added to easier see the pad color.
For the baskets, we added red and blue stripes to better show the direction to the next tee. Not on the spokes, but on the circles. If you haven't played it before, this can be a pretty difficult course to navigate without tee signs (which we are not allowed to have). Hopefully, this won't be an eyesore or a distraction.
I recently took a lot of notes on both our courses for some suggested improvements. I'll post back.
