A church in Andover contacted me about 2 years ago. We talked a little, they were going to get back to me.

I am still waiting.

I don't remember. The dude said they had a bunch of land with rolling hills. That is all I can remember.

You can find good course proposals on line. Find one and change it, then contact the city. Then just keep bugging them. That is what I did in Dodge City and it worked. I took them a while, but it worked.

Post back about what location you are looking at. Maybe the ACDGC could get involved.

I would definitely like to see something on the east side in this area.

We need another good course where people are comfortable playing. Oak just gets too crowded sometimes & hardly anyone plays at a Herman.

I don't remember what happened to Derby except for it wasn't being maintained well. Just because one course didn't work out doesn't mean we should quit trying to get more in the ground.

Derby is still in the plans and, speaking for myself, I believe ACDGC would be interested in an Andover course. :D

My memory of the Derby situation: Derby stopped maintaining the course and 3 baskets were stolen. We pulled the remaining 6 to protect them. Then Derby decided to reconfigure the park. Finally, we reworked the baskets and put the 6 back in. When Derby is done with its construction and expansion, the plan is to finish the course. Of course that's my memory and CRS likes to fog it up for me. :?

According to the Andover city website, Andover Central Park is about 80 acres. I took a look at a park map and while its mostly open, there is plenty of room, even some water hazard potential.

I say someone down there give it a look.

And while its not in Andover, or even on the east side, I take it nothing became of this?
