Lawrence Open June 17th

Post by KevinBabbit »

The Lawrence Open will be held at Centennial Park on Sunday June 17th, 2007. It will be two rounds of golf with a players meeting at 9:30 a.m. Entry fees information will be posted shortly. They will be standard fees for a one day event - probably on the low side to encourage play.

There are a lot more birdies to be had at Centennial than you will find at the Wide Open so come and get a few.

Will the park be closed to casual golfers?

Sounds like a Father's day retreat. I'll be there, is it going to be PDGA sanctioned?

Here is some info on the June 17th Lawrence Open for all you detail oriented folks. This should be a PDGA sanctioned tournament. I am just now sending in the sanctioning agreement. This will be a C-Tier, however, so it shouldn't matter that it is coming a bit late.

Mothrows - The parks department has historically frowned on shutting down the park for a tournament. I will hopefully have some signs up to let people know. Maybe with a little luck they will listen to someone new running the tournament.

This is set on Sunday in part because of Swope doubles but also because I have this vague hope that some people might come into town early for the Wide Open and may consider playing.

ENTRY FEES

Open - $35
All Other Pro Divisions - $30
All Advanced Divisions - $25
All Intermediate Divisions - $20
All Recreational Divisions - $20
All Junior Divisions - $15

Registration at 8:00 - 9:30
Players meeting at 9:30
1st round at 10:00

You guys will have blast. That is a heck of a trip. Reminds me of the trip Ty Wheeler and I took in 1997 to the DGLO and the Amateur World Championships. Make sure you spend some time Ann Arbor. There is a kick ass pizza joint downtown. Brown something or other. I am jealous.
