thanks for the pat on the head ,but I really was seriously looking for input about what our fine body of golfers was looking for .examples 1. big payout 2.free ----- 3.Alcholic beverages 4.Dancing girls?Beyond the obvious and sometimes juvenile things I can come up with ,any great ideas will be passed in front of the ponca tournament promotion board for possible use asap.Oh yeah!we already implemented the first suggestion! Thanks Leo.

For many non-PDGA tournaments, especially early in the year, there are players who would like to step their game up to the open division.

The Ponca tournament will have some quality golfers. Maybe a deeper payout might get more players to take the step. I'm not saying that the top place finishers shouldn't get a big prize. I'm just saying its nice to get something for say 5th out of 11.

In order to avoid some pitfalls seen (and experienced) as well as to make it easier on the TD, Ponca payout will loosely follow PDGA guidlines in the Open divisions. We will not be adding free lunch to the tournament expense budget(unlike some other tournaments). There are donations of merchandise which make it possible to boost Am/pro payouts.theplayer should thank all sponsors for mproving payout and perks they (You) recieve. Thanks for your generous donations!!!a list of fine sponsors as well as a list of those people who donated effort/labor to make our tournament possible will precede the posting of scores. Thanks

I always appreciate a quality player's package at tournaments. It's great to get a t-shirt, hat, mini, or disc just for registering.

I want lunch, a players pack, close games, cool people and a bad mother course.

I vote all of the above! :P

Tournament Help

Post by jtkustomizer »

Coming from a newbie that has been to 2 tournaments i would like to put a word out for the Rec Division it would be really nice if even the last place person in this group would at least get to take home 1 disc just to keep them coming back for more. I know that this is probly a bad idea and some think that it will encourage sandbaggin but thats where people just need to move up and play with better people instead of cheating themselves. I think that this could only help out with bringing more people out that wouldnt come otherwise. It was also nice to pick a disc for registering in the Doo Dah

It is nice to get something, but it is better to win something! I agree there should be a good players pack, but not so much that it takes away from a awesome payout!
