Yep, you are right! Love Mary Poppins! Great kids musical! Also like the Sound of Music. They are both a few of my "Favorite Things"! Got a whole list of them that I like. Sang in a few of them in High School! Wasn't that great so did not persue it, but was a ton of fun!

I got to admit,my gay music teacher made me sing all the songs out of Sound of Music and Mary Poppins in choir."When the dog bites when the bee stings when I`m feelin sad.......................

I think music teachers in general like to have the kids sing musicals. Those are generally the songs that will teach kids how to sing/play. Maybe even appreciate music.
