He may have been a good putter, but the best in Kansas may be a little extreme.

A few names that come to mind. Babbit, E-mac, Downtown Randy Brown.

I think that Lewis was a good putter for an Am player, I can remember him nailing some great putts the 2 years I played with him.

I also know if he was the best putter in Kansas, he would have been kicking all of our butts in the Advanced division back in the day.

He wasn't on all the time, but sometimes we'd play some casual golf together and he'd have days where he really didn't miss anything inside 40. Then his drive got better. Then... he disappeared... to where?

I think he lost his mojo when I took him out in Goldeneye 007. License to Kill. Pistols. Facility. He did cap me through the glass with the cougar magnum.

I played with him everyday for years..He was the best putter in Kansas

I'd bet money on him against any other Kansan...

As far as disapearing...He got a job, got married, and had a kid...Basically moved on with his life giving discgolf the back seat

I dunno smitty, i've played w/ jus' about everybody and there was only 2 guys that I expected never to miss a makeable putt in a round. Kevin F-ing Babbit and Big Lou-Dogg. Both of those guys are the most clutch putters i've ever seen too. I feel like nowadays i can hold my own in the putting department w/ anybody but those guys are/were just coldblooded assasins.

I may have gotten it, I read some articles, watched some video (of others and of myself) I went out last night set up the camera and putted 10 shots from 15-20-25-30, went inside checked out the film and saw immediatly what the problem was, went back out and worked on corecting it for about 30 minutes. Then it was test time, results were 10for 10 from 15 feet, 9 for ten from 20 feet 7 for ten from 25, and 6 for ten from 30, I also canned three of the four jump putts I attempted from about 45.

I know that these numbers are going to improve, I am commited to practice and since my hoop is jank, I am betting that the numbers are 10-15% lower than on a good hoop. I am stoked, this may be the stumble that I needed to get it all together (refering to posting that great score on my home designed course) (sorry again Smitty and Babbit I am glad I didnt bring you guys down to much that round)

We will see what happens, If this works out the way I think it will I am confident that I will be in the money in St. Louis.

I agree, the thing is that you practice and develop confidence in a shot wo that in tournament time you are not thinking about the miss you are thinking about how many times you have hit that putt already.

I have been looking at a lot of stuff on the mental aspect of golf and sports in general, for the most part it all applies.

Last year I was playing in my first PDGA Master's field. Ron Converse (playing open) and I were warming up at Oak on one of the closest baskets. I could not hit any part of the basket, I was so nervous! He says "you should practice some floaters, that way you are closer if you miss". He was right. It took me several holes playing with two open players (mixed cards ) to get close to the basket to start putting. Then I would still miss, but not as bad!
