For those of you that may not know what a bead is...
If you set your disc on a table, flat, so you can see the hot stamp, the "bead" would be the part resting on the table. I am not sure which Discraft discs have beads, but I am sure a Wasp has a bead. I am also sure the Z Magnet that I have has a bead. Most long range drivers do not have beads, at least the molds I throw.
Here are a couple of examples in Innova discs. The Stingray has no bead, where the Cobra has a bead (same mold). The Stingray is less overstable than the Cobra. There are beadless Aviars and Big Bead Aviars as well as Small Bead Aviars. Usually the driver mold is Big Bead.
The "bead" makes the disc more overstable from what I understand.
So go get your bag and look at your discs. Can you find the "bead" on some of them? I thought you could!

thanks DR. Don I think that my head is about to implode with all of the bead conversation...
Hey I wonder if the Swiss discs will have Beads? For that matter they should make a putter called the Cheese and it should have no bead and a lot of holes then they could make another with tiny holes and it would be the Baby cheese...
Now come to think of it what do they call swiss cheese in switzerland? just cheese do you supose
I think that I will need to appoligize for the posting today I found a hidden stash of loritabs and well lets say work is going well today.

The story goes that Bill Skip and Virgil were playing Lindsborg (course no longer exists see many other posts by SuperQ implying that the pins were stolen and now live in Winfield which is a tragedy considering Steady Ed put the course in and it was either the 1st or 2nd course in Kansas).
They were on one of the holes inside the stadium and had been drinking (cant immagine) Somehow virgil ended up on the 50 yard line and loudly exclaimed "Go SWEDES" since that is what is printed all across the bleachers on both sides of the stadium.
The chant has lived on in part to it being unique to the Kanoli golfers and as a homage to the course in lindsborg as a sign of respect to Steady Ed...
(again see posts regarding tragic pillaging of Lindsborg)
So in summary Nate I would not take it as an insult at all...
