Daniels

Post by smitty »

It is going in the ground Saturday at 1:00.

From what I hear, the ocean is dry this year. We will play the tall grass as a bunker. That should make the course play about 6 strokes easier.

That would be great. I don't know if I will be there at 1:00, but Harvey should be out there.

Daniel's course rocks! Well, it WAS cool anyway.

That is very sad that the ocean is dry. If the game wasn't already moving more towards more tomahawk throws (no 2m rule), we are going to further reward the players who use them by destroying the concept of OB. Tomahawks are good shots and all, but many otherwise tedious holes can be easily thrown over with this shot. Not the players fault of course, but what can you do... put all pads under trees?

There sure isn't going to be much debating on how to throw your shot now, is there? Everyone will be going for the green. Those who don't make it should still be able to save par. Except for a few holes, Daniels is fairly short. The deadly OB ocean (and the cool fairways that defined the OB) is what made that course great.

3 very short courses wasn't enough for the friz, I guess. We have to make it 4. This is freakin retarded. Does anyone care for the concept of golf anymore? That's what ticks me off. The strategy that was involved with this course made this the one good course at the friz (no more West Bank!) is going to be weakened for no reason. Why do things have to get crappier instead of better? A good course or 2 at least gives me the excuse to go "party" at the friz. Throwing your putter through the mud for so many holes just isn't worth it unless you truly are totally flucked up.

I like Daniels course. I'll probably come play it. I'm not going to come watch Harv have a good old time throwing his upside down putter shot from OB!

Tell us how you really feel Mikey :)

Actually, I agree with you.. I like the "ocean" as OB.

Maybe I was a little "harsh".

Harv and Rich and whoever deserve props for this creation to begin with. Truly a unique course.

It's frustrating though to see taken away what made the course fun to begin with. Why would you even bother with the carefully mowed fairways? To throw UD's? Why not just mow a 30' circle around each basket and make people throw with their off hand if they are not inside?

Who's idea was this? I guess that's easy enough to answer. Better question... WHY??!!

My only guess is that it is assumed that people will be cheating in regards to OB in order to win the MOST FUN. Of course cheating isn't applied uniformly, so we got to make it more SIMPLE.

Another possibility for this cwaziness is that someone want 4 rounds of low scores for easy counting. The scores will be so close together that the cash will be decided basically by putting and no other parts of the game, except a few UD's.

I don't much like the idea either. Problem is, you would have better luck talking to a brick wall. I have voiced my dislike to both Harv and Rich.

I think that the logic behind it is time and money. Someone has to sit on the tractor and mow the fairways. I mowed for 3 hours last year while Rich took a break. I only got 2 fairways mowed. Fuel isn't the cheapest right now either.

Tractor! The grass was tall, the fairways are wide, and long. It isn't like mowing in under trees.

I guess 8 billion miles of string wasnt in the budget this year.

I wouldnt want to take the time to set that mother up that would take alot of work. I can see the reasoning.....

Rich said that if you go out there, you need to walk from the gate if it is locked! No driving across the grass this year.
