I wrote down the scoring averages for everyone that plays league.
Pro score averages ranged from 53-59. Amateur scores ranged from 58-63, with a handful up to 70 or so.
My suggestion to draw players would be giving them a chance to win while at the same time keeping it new with the random doubles. Giving out mulligans would be a different, reasonable solution. Keep in mind that for ams, 1 mulligan = about half a stroke. 2 pro teams will shoot around -3 average at Oak (red or blue) while 2 am teams will shoot around +4 or more.
Give 59-61 average players 2 mulligans. Give 62-64 average players 4 mullies. 65+ gets 6. That would make it more fair while still giving the 2 pros the best chances. Giving out more mullies would make it even more fair, but you don't want to get too rediculous with a multitude of extra shots.

I like the drawing of the cards, its the dropping someone down/moving up thats always a problem.. but what can you do, I think just show up and have fun, play your game. hey, you got out -off the couch, "and in the other case" you spent 5 bucks, your mad now and you have missed watching Tiger golf on tv.. Win/Win; Lose/Lose; Win/ Lose... Just my 2----- cents

I would have loved to play but when the weather looks like it did all day sunday ... I have a Question for scooba. what does giving mulligans do for an A.M. player. sure it might be great if you could throw a do over if your thow ends up in B.F.E. but when playing against the pros it not our erant shots that keep us from scoreing well . Its our putts and our lack of distance on the drives. Ithink I would rather have and extra three or four throws taken off my total score than a couple of mulligans. just thought i would throw that out there.

I hate when people just get strokes. If they get a partner who is worth a crap they win.
I like the mulligan idea. It gives the AM player a chance to make up a stroke, but they have to earn it.
Rich gives strokes to peole in Winfield sometimes. He always does it after the teams have been made. Give me Monster D and 3 strokes at SW and you are going to have a problem beating us. Give Jon Holmes Monster D and 3 strokes and they don't have a chance.

"Total score" doubles? Heard of best score doubles, alternate shot doubles, worst shot doubles, switch doubles, and doubles skins.
What they are playing is the same as in ACDGC league play. Best shot doubles.
I was proposing 2, 4, or 6 mullies according to the league's record of scoring averages. How did you guys do it this Sunday? Did Iqbal's partner get the standard 3 mulligans? It looks like you guys did the pro / am thing. Are you folding under the pressure, Scooba? This is an outrage! If you are off the couch it is a win / lose scenario. The couch is definitely lose / lose.
