Pratt May Dennis Course - 2007 Tourney Prep

We have the 18 Mach V baskets in our possession. Anchors are going in the ground this April in preparation for the 2007 Pratt tourney.
I'd like for the format this year to be:
1st round: Classic layout (concrete pads to existing pin placements)
2nd round: Long layout (A or B or another variation)

Looks to me like all the changes take place out of the trees.
I have played hole 1 on the long courses before. It is a fun hole.
Hole 2 looks pretty cool.
Hole 3 looks like the hole we played last year. It was pretty fun, minus the branch that was hanging down.
Hole 4 Better on A. That it is a cool looking long mother from the Tee. It is on the back back 9 isn't it.
Then I get kind of lost. Is the basket on 5 the one that is on the little hill next to the cedars? That was always a cool hole. I think it is #9 on the original course.

Okay, I numbered the Long1A and Long1B maps. They should make more sense. Here's a walk-through...
LONG 1B DESCRIPTION
====================
I played it, got a 3 or better on everything but holes 4 and 9. Putted at nothing on 2, but was parked in the right area on 2nd shot.
*1*
Same as the City's "3rd Nine."
*2*
Same teepad as Classic #2. Hyzer up the hill (same as Classic #2), but extend down the tunnel after reaching the top of the hill. Will require new anchor.
*3*
Downhill shot, low clearance.
*4*
This is a 700 footer, utilizing otherwise wasted space in the park. Long open area for the drive. Various tunnels for approach. Uses Classic-1's pin placement.
*5*
Wide open drive to a narrow gap which opens up to Classic-5's long pin green.
*6*
Same as Classic-6, except tee off from other side of trees. Turns a right hook shot into a straight wooded tunnel shot. (Could play original here.)
*7*
Same as Classic-7.
*8*
Same as Classic-8.
*9*
Same as Classic-9 (long pin position).
*10 through 17, same as Classic*
*18*
Same as Classic-18, except tee of from old long pad. (Could play original here.)
LONG 1A DESCRIPTION

I've not played this layout all the way around in one setting.

Same as the City's "3rd Nine."

Yes, the back is difficult to do anything with, such a tight space. Yes, cedars are #9 on the original course. This year, alt 3 would be a bit shorter. That branch shouldn't be an obstacle.
2 is a tuffie. Best I can say, is to hyzer the heck out of something really flippy. It climbs the hill, turns the corner, and levels off down the tunnel.

Sounds interesting. Nice job with the maps.
I haven't played out there enough to say exactly which I'd like best.
Stretching it out should add the possibility of 3 scores or more per hole instead of 2. Looks like you have some real winners on the first 4 holes.
The way the trees shape the hole make a big difference. I always thought of the doglegs on 5 and 17 when I thought of this course. Good pin locations also make for memorable holes.
The short, almost duece or die holes were the ones I didn't like as much. Holes 11-16. Is there any way 13 and 14 could be combined? What if you took out a couple of trees? Unthinkable?
I like 18's pin, but thought the tee shot wasn't so great. Maybe that new angle for the "A" course would be good. Not sure how the other holes 5,6, and 17 would look. Almost all righty holes from the looks. Holes 5 and 9 look cooler on B. The A course looks like it might have a better flow and is more different from the current layout.
I'm not sure I said anything you haven't already thought of. I think the new baskets and tee signs out of the way will make a world of difference and the merits of the course will become more noticeable.

Thanks for the positive input.
I like to keep a good mix of left/right hooks. Several of the holes have 2 routes. The arrows on the map show what the signs show. Perhaps I can add the alternate routes on each hole?
On Long1A:
Long 1 is anhyzer/lefty bomb.
12/13 on the back side have anhyzer/leftie routes.
10&11 are subtle anhyzer/lefties.
14 has a sky hyzer route, or a straight anhyzer/lefty route.
On Classic:
Hole 6 is flick/lefty.
7 is slight fade to the right.
13/14 on the back side have anhyzer/leftie routes.
4 is a flick/lefty tunnel or sky hyzer.
Yeah 13+14 is something that we do play in Skip-a-Hole dubs (Tuesday fair weather league).
We're going to be playing Long 1A today @ 4pm.
Signs are another issue altogether. I've been working with the Parks director, sharing course design standards, tee pad standards, etc., and he's aware the we want them moved. We're asking them to commit time/resources to installing the new anchors/baskets first, though.
They did move a couple of signs already this winter.
Keep the ideas flowing...

We're going to be raising funds for added cash for the 2007 Pratt C-Tier over the coming weeks.
My goal is to add $1000.00 to the Pro purse from local businesses this year and I think we can do it.
I'd like to start by asking KDGA members who run/own businesses to kick it off by pledging something. Cash is best, prizes are cool and just as acceptable!

If you are going to have that much added money. Make it a B-tier.
You would have to look at the PDGA site to see what else you would need. I think it is only $250 and a ?$ players pack for all Ams.
