bye-bye trees, hello open routes

They have cut 40-50 trees down at Frontier, and they plan to cut more. The following holes have been effected greatly: 2, 3, 6, 8, 9, 16, and 18. It sucks, but hopefully they will plant new ones. Seems like such a waste. These were trees that were easily 40 plus years old.

They never tell you about it beforehand. Then D-Day whacks you upside the head.

Sometimes we can't even get our parks department to mow. Anyone who steps in the park leave covered in stickers. They always got time to whack trees for unknown reasons, though.

Joey says they plan on planting about 2 trees for every tree they cut down.

Then I guess, you might be able to create a new course confuration to match the new trees in about 40 years.

I know, too much sarcasm here. It's just the best courses always get either taken out or altered for the worse. San Saba,TX , Brooksville,FL , Maybe Santa Cruz,CA , Ted's Dread, Maybe Waterworks Park.....

We just had some new trees planted to replace many that have been cut down. It will be several years in most cases before they become a real factor. Some we couldn't even get the right kind of trees or to get them planted in the right locations. It's a good start though. Got to work with the parks dept. if you want to disc golf to have a future.

I would get with them and find out if it was absolutely necessary in every circumstance to cut those trees. You might equate it with setting off some grenades on a golf green. While this won't actually do any good, you might get them to at least communicate with you next time they plan on screwing up your course. More constructive yet, you might ask them to plant the trees that are going in at a location that serves your course best.

We've actually known about it for awhile, lots of orange X's on trees all over the park.

From my understanding, due to some lack of care in previous years the trees that were cut down had become heavily diseased. Rather than keeping them in when they were already dead the park departments decided to cut them down and replace them.

I'm just passing on information that I've heard passed around..so take it with a grain of salt!

You'll have to have someone park an old truck where the tree used to be during the tourney. Leave the windows down and make them throw from inside if it goes in.

We want to build a small "Stone Hinge" around the pin on hole #8. The city has torn up plenty of concrete lately and will be dumping it into big creek most likely.
