Beautiful evening for golf. Calm and 70s' cant be beat. Mr. Rich Homgren $howed up and so did his game. Starting off with 4 straight birds was a indicator of things to come. I might add that he shot the current singles record @ -13. It was a two horse race, and when he felt me breathing down his back , he stepped his game up more to protect his position. Great putting, and all around great round Rich! ( Rumor has it he has found a new good luck charm )

Well it was a fun 14 weeks of golf. Thursday night singles had a loyal bunch of players who supported the cause. A vote was cast and we will use the money for a bowling get together this Thurs evening. You had to show up for at least 5 Thursday singles to be elgible to participate. Money raised was $ 113.00 here are the results.

A windy start to 2011 Thurs. singles. We all shot flat except Andy , who easily won. Quick trivia; What year was it when Clinster last played Am ? My guess is 1992. Good to see him throw again.
The point system is two fold. First , it decides pairings for the end of season doubles ( high / low ). I will base the final points on a average system for doubles, and the top points winner in each division ( total points added up ) will receive some form of a prize and perhaps a plaque. Chris Jones with his first win had his putter going for him with 7 birds. We all had over strokes except Austin who played bogey free. Rod taking charge in Am with a good jump in the points race. Lets encourage others to get in the race soon or it will be too late to capture the $50.00 cash prize for Pro, and the $50.00 merchandise certificate for the ams winner. A great evening for golf! Thanks everyone for participating. Andy Lyne goes 2 for 2 with his second win. He won on a second hole playoff, banging a 55 foot bird on 18! "that young man can putt!!" Rod,s in charge in the Ams with a commanding lead in the points race. Playing at Thomas again for singles helps one appreciate the ease of the Lakewood courses'. Once the Ivy gets under control it will be more enjoyable.It,s amazing how much progress has been done in two years.Even with some fallen trees the course looks great, and the pads are awsome!
For the record Austin hit a tree 30 foot from the tee on 5 than punched a different one left handed, and we have a new watering hole on 15 if you get thirsty!

Another nice evening for disc golf in good ole Salina. Austin baited his hook for twos and caught 11. and his first win. (nice stringer !) "Fellas we got a race! " I,m diggn how it,s playing out.If we have ties on the averages at the end of Singles season, the tie breaker will be determined by most wins... 2nds... etc...
