In the Am,s Chris Affholder continuing to dominate with his fourth straight. ( I,m pretty sure he has conquistador in his blood line! )


In the Pro,s Austin put on a birdie clinic through the back woods. After missing a putt and bogeying hole 4, he calmly steped up to 5 and started a streak of six birdies in a roll. ( all of the wooded back holes) I,m sure it,s the first time it,s been done. He was setting 5 under, missed the birdie hole 13 and stays at -5. His thoughts were keep it together, I have three more shots at the elusive record. Hole 14 called him out and he produced another 4. Knowing he needs two more birds, he steps up to 15 ,and opts for the Avenger SS roller. " PARK JOB " ! Back at -5, Austin knows 16 gives up alot of birds. forty short left caused a face mask. " STRIKE TWO " ! Eighteen can be Austins friend, just not today. A car noise got into his head, and he drove low. His 80' run was dead on, but the low hanging walnut branch slapped him down. The record is safe once again, holding at -5. Austin joins "The Elite Group" of Smitty and R Bizzle to be the only singles rounds in the 40,s at Thomas. Congradulations!

Thanks for your support players. Our Friday club money will go toward a Barbecue for club members, sometime in July.

What can one say of a course that produced 42****4,s ____ 11 ****5,s ___8***6,s ____3***7,s____and only 11*** 2,s ?
Damn it,s tough! I think we know how the swamp players down in Louisiana Baton Rouge feel! Even the Mosquitos were bitch,n tonight . The highlight of the evening came from "Power Hyzer Phil" when he flicked 14 clean with anhyzer and as it was hooking up right it ticked a tree which put him fifteen feet from the opening with a clear view of the basket. the best shot ever seen to date on this hole. With confidence and a pinch of hope he threw his new aviar.( Friday singles $50.00 bounty for the 1st 2 on 14 ) Knowing he could go down in local history he watched the streak of orange go basket high two feet right and forty long. Sorry Phil we were all pulling for you! I,d like to say maybe next time, but opportunity like that is rare. He did can the putt back though, and got a patt on the back, and the box for 15.

Nice evening for golf even though it was high 90s'. Subtle breeze complimented the large shade areas Thomas trees provide.
Chris Jones played quality control with his game, kept his head,(requirement for Thomas) and made the putts all around the circle, to capture his 2nd Thomas win. Not sure if Mace is on the juice or not, but he cranked several 400+ drives on most all the long holes,outdriving the field except for (BASS) Big Arm Super Streit.
With the Am King absent, the court was frolic for Knighthood. Harvey Wall making his 2nd appearance to singles, wins his 1st in Ams, with Phil "moving up"Googler pressing him all the way.

Nice calm evening for golf. I think most players enjoyed playing the North side for a change. It,s more player friendly, and requires less time to play. In the Pros' we had a race to the finish! I started off strong on the longs with a -6, but fell flat on the shorts. Jonesy played consistant throughout making good drives and good putts.Austin had O B trouble, finding the road 3 times to cost him 4 strokes,and only finishing one stroke out of the cash. Rich was the DarkHorse and shot a silent 8 down, and were it not for a few low shots,he easily would have won with his red hot putter!
In the Ams, the Am King returned to establish his reign.( every Am wants a piece of him! ) Phil Gugler found the road twice or it would have been a closer battle, and Rod always waits for a chink in the armor.
This was the last Friday singles. From this point on until late fall it will be on Thursdays at Thomas (unless wet ) and on the last Thursday of the month it will be at Lakewood. The Ace fund was denied from a 10 to 3 vote, so the Thursday club money will continue to build towards players end of season get together. Don,t forget this Thursday for our Pizza/beer bash and alternating doubles. Bring $5.00 for dubs. ( Friday club money raised for this was $128.00 )
