ACDGC Year in Review 2009

This report was submitted at the annual meeting. It is mostly to inform our members, but also provides the city with information to help our cause.

The ACDGC Year in Review- 2009

Tournaments- The club hosted 98 events in 2008
· 1 PDGA ‘B’ tier/ KDGA tournament – 20th Annual Doo Dah: 100 participants.
· 1 PDGA ‘C’ tier/ KDGA tournament – Wichita Round Up: 93 participants.
· 1 Ice Bowl tournament – 46 participants.
· 1 KDGA tournament at the Tick Ranch for the KDSS – 13 participants.
· 1 Ace Race tournament at Derby– 21 participants.
· 1 Membership Drive/ Club Championships tournament at Oak– 42 participants.
· 1 Doubles tournament at Valley Center.
· 91 league events for a total league attendance of 1,490.

Money and Time spent on Projects-
· $1501 was raised ($300+ of which the ACDGC donated) to benefit the KS Food Bank. Held at Oaklawn for 2nd year.
· Hosted a club picnic at Oak Park during the membership drive.
· Presented disc golf at the Big Boy Toy Show at Century II. 20 volunteers helped over 250 people experience disc golf.
· Clinics were held at Riverlawn, & Oaklawn. 19 man-hours.
· Purchased final 9 of 18 baskets for Derby ($1800).
· Installation of final 9 baskets & signs at Derby along with multiple workdays. 63 man-hours.
· Maps and course OB documents created and posted for Derby course.
· Continued progress at Colwich with multiple workdays. 32 man-hours.
· Arranged for planting of trees on holes at Herman Hill Park.
· Many park clean up efforts including a big job before the Doo Dah. 75 manhours.
· Work before Doo Dah included burying of honeycomb pavers on ends of tee pads to prevent erosion and stone work on holes 6, 16, & 18.
· Numerous man-hours were spent picking up trash in the parks (20).
· Organizational effort with league documents such as handicaps, league schedule, tee rotation, disc inventory, ace fund, member app., member list, contact info, and league running worksheets.
· Effort with communication via club email, internet forum, and course bulletins.
· New & improved bulletins installed at HH, Oak, Derby, & Colwich. Weather proof for permanent documents. 40 man-hours.
· Brochure dispensers at HH, Oak, Derby, & Colwich stocked with course maps, scorecards, disc golf brochures, & membership forms.
· Stayed in contact with Derby Parks and monitored their progress on infrastructure
· Maintained contact with the city of Wichita to stay informed about activities affecting disc golf parks and other communication.

Noteables-
· Record 67 ACDGC members for 2009.
· Record 350 total man-hours of volunteer effort improving DG for the local area.
