Wichita Course Records

Apologies to Scooba as I couldn't find the thread that I thought was for Wichita course records.

I'm keeping a file that has league and tourney records on one sheet with non-league records on the other. Singles and Doubles.

I don't have a whole lot of scores so far, so post any possible course records here.



I'll start this thread with a record of my own.

This was a legit round as I wasn't throwing from both sets of tees or anything. The round started with Plamen throwing 6 consequtive drives OB on hole 1. I felt so bad for him that I forgot to tee off. I birdied the first 6 holes with a crazy spike over the pole on hole 2 and a crazy long putt on hole 6. I thumber birdied hole 9 to tie my front 9 record of -7. I 2'd 10, 12, 15, 17, and 18 on the back. 15 I stuck in the bottom of the basket and the rest of them I pretty much parked. I made half hearted runs on holes 8, 13, & 16, but I made no real errors except for nailing the tree on hole 14. Looking back at the round, I can see that 6 of my 2's came from drives that I threw with a forehand shot: holes 1, 4, 5, 12, 15, & 18. I don't put up low numbers very often, so I am dern proud.

Well, the course has changed again at Herman Hill. I'm restarting the record keeping there. Here is what I have from league and tourney scores. We moved pins 16 and 17 before the tourney, so Doo Dah scores are not included for HH.

I only have HH data for even long pins. Nothing from long tees as it has been well over a year since we have played them at either park in singles.

I could include casual rounds in here. As you can see, some of these scores are easy to beat. If you want, send me your score from which course and your witness.

Not a course record, but a personal record....

Plamen Iantchev shot 59 at Herman Hill today. That's a good 12 shots or so below his average.

I dug this one out of the grave. Ben Maass shot a TEN DOWN on long tees Tuesday. Beat the old course record (also Ben's) by a stroke. And with a bogey on the last hole! Ben shot -9 on Blue at Oak yesterday. Ben & Crispin with singles averages under 50 now!

8/11 was on a Tuesday, so we did play Herman Hill, and my records show we did play short tees that night.

It's hard to read because it was copied straight from a file. This board doesn't have the tools some do for editing tables and such.

Looks like a couple of new course records.

Tonight, 7/12/11 at Herman Hill: Bo Carrasco & Mark Wilson shot a -10 in the wind and rain! That beat the previous record for Blue Tees to Even-Long Pins by 3 strokes.

7/5/11 at Herman Hill: Crispin Carrasco shot -8 for red tees and same pin configuration.

6/28/11 at Herman Hill: Ron Unruh and Curtis Broadhurst shot an -8 from long tees and same pin configuration.

KINGPIN STRIKES AGAIN....Record score for HH short tee pads-odd long pins....A WHOPPING 42....Nice shooting, I was in his group and he could have easily shot 16 down....Stupid chains.
