That's another good idea, and I may do this, but this would be the same as posting the info here on the KDGA site. I agreed not to do this, so I have to try to reverse this decision. I'd also have 2 files to update instead of one. I agree, posting a google document will be easy, but it will have to be noted that the google document is the unofficial list.

Yes, easier than doing membership cards. We may still do the cards, but not until next season, which would start in October. I would want something generic where we could fill in the date, season year, expiration date, "prior year member?" checkbox, membership number, amount paid, approval signature. Could say something along the top like "Air Capital Disc Golf Club Membership Card".

It seems the problem has been a lack of communication. For whatever misguided reason(s) we don't have a published membership list, failure to do so means we are a secret society. While I give Mike much kudos for his painstaking record keeping, he is unable and shouldn't be expected to remember every member. A printed list, updated regularly, should be available to any member. If anyone wants name, address, or other info kept off, OK. This should help avoid the problems we have recently had. Giving club member discounts on purchases because they are assumed members, but denying ace fund rewards because of renewal oversight by the member should never happen. Again I say Mike(s) can't know every paid member, but a list would sure make it easy to know who IS NOT a member, and make sure every paid member knows who isn't. Peer pressure works if used properly.

Which brings me to my next thought. Why are we coddling to non-members. We encourage new players to join the club and play at league, but we do nothing to force joining. Let's consider a $1 surcharge at league for non-members. This would quickly stop the regulars from not renewing if they were informed every time that they pay more. Use the money for maintenance fund and not payout. No carryover for multiple payments toward membership.

I would be down with that . i am not a current member and still see nothing wrong with charging an extra buck (as long as it is going to the maintance of the courses and not in some ones pocket) every time i come out to play league. I don't get to play very offten but when i do and see improvments on the courses it reminds me that i should re-up and get more involved. the extra buck would probably push me to do so.

KC does this extra buck thing and they get 200-300 members every year. And I believe they have $20 or $25 membership fee.

By the way, I do keep a membership list with me. If anyone wants a copy, I'd gladly print one out. The other night, I went through it and highlighted some frequent players who are not members and I tried to remind some of these players at league that they were not current. They key date is April 1st. I don't worry about it much before then because last years membership carries over. Don't be a foo, sign up before April Fools.

I like the extra buck idea. It really wouldn't make running league any more difficult other than having to refer to a member list often, but like b says, we should do that for discs anyway. I don't know what Speer thinks about it. I think that it would be a helpful tool in raising money for courses (we don't take in as much from league as we used to). It would also make sure everyone knows their membership status. And get more members. Hopefully wouldn't scare too many away. I want to get some projects rolling with Oak Park improvement. Have to find some stuff out first, but I'd like to see this as a motivating force behind getting people to see what the club is all about and joining. Good ideas guys. I'll run it by the board and see if we need an official motion on this.

Google Docs!

Print a list, view it with your smart phone, see it from home.

And it is free.

Let's give this a go.

Membership list for each year back to 2008. 2011 is the only one that counts though. If there is no "YES" next to your name, you are not current.

Can someone try to edit it to make sure that it's set up for just me?

I think you should lock the top rows and columns with all the important info. That way when you scroll down, it will stay put and you can still read it.

Anyone tried to print? It says it is 5 pages long. Any way to do a print preview and edit the printing settings to fit into 1 or 2 pages?

Any time I get an error message, the file freezes and I can't go back without hitting the back button, which takes me away from the document.
