Re: Derby Course
Already moved: Tee 1 to west side of parking lot. Straight line to basket. Also straight over practice putting basket, which needs to be moved to east.
Tee 11; backed up 30 ft. Tee is east of bare spot usually played and back.
Tee 14: backed up 50 ft.
To be moved: Hole 6, tee across creek to north and basket to west where brush pile was in clearing.

Re: Derby Course
The work day at Derby is cancelled. We tried to move them last time it rained 2 inches and just doesn't work when it is that muddy. We will wait until better weather. The changes being made are in preparation of putting in permanent tee pads. It is tentatively scheduled for this fall after the mowing season. Some of the changes being made will allow future flexibility in installing alternate pins. Some changes are made to make the course easier to maintain, such as 6. By moving it totally across the creek, It is no longer an issue to mow or weedeat the edges of the creek through the fairway. 6 will become the long hole and 7 will be short at least until alternates are put in.

Re: Derby Course
Derby Report:
-The place had some tall grass. It has been pretty good out there this year overall though.
-I really like the change on hole 1. Used to be a 250' RHBH hyzer. Now it is about 340' with a RHBH hyzer route or a slight turnover straight shot. The tree in the middle is really in play now.
-I saw the spot for moving the tee & pin on hole 6. There will be lots of trees right off the tee. If the basket is outside the woods, I don't really see a 2 being a score on this hole, but if it is tough enough, it could play as a good par 3.5. Certainly better than the current hole. And I did see the long location for hole 5. That would be a good par 3.5 as well. Could see some high scores happen with the OB on the left side.
-Hole 9 still needs the big dead tree removed.
-Hole 11 tee makes for a better hole than the previous short & open shot. 2 routes available: straight and sharp low hyzer. The problem is that the tee is even more in the way of hole 12 shots. Lots of shots crashing in to this area and even over by basket 10 & beyond. Don't really see any trees that would serve as a good mando for this hole to fix this problem.
-Hole 14. First off: is the tee area supposed to be to the left or to the right of the sign? I'm assuming it is to the left. Tee moved back will mean far fewer shots OB both to the left and to the right as the low ceiling will limit distance. The approach shot will be crazier though, as longer shots will want to race down the hill into the pond.
-Hole 15. We really need to know exactly where the tee is. Flags I've put out there haven't lasted long, getting mowed no matter how low I put them in. The tee should be far enough right to give an open look to the pin. Espescially for a somewhat reasonable lefty route.
-Hole 17. We need to eventually come up with a better OB line on the right. I suppose we can flag it or string it for a tournament.
-Holes 16 to 18. I'm not really liking the way the OB is written for the barbed wire fence. Here is the way it is written currently:
*Across Barbed wire fence. OB for hole 17 only.
*Special Provision: If your throw lands OB over the barbed wire fence, play it where it was last in bounds (or from previous lie, if preferred) up to 2 meters away from the fence to give yourself room to safely throw. If you lie is located within 2m of the fence but not OB, you may take up to 2m relief as well.
From what I remember, hole 16 has had most of the barbed wire removed? That makes things tricky for 18 also, if it isn't certain where the OB line would be if the barbed wire ends. The special provision allows people throwing near the OB barbed wire to take 2m relief. But players throwing on the opposite side must take their relief on the opposite side, which may not be understood from the way the rules read now. Perhaps better would be to say that the barbed wire is OB for all 3 holes (or at least 17 & 18) and that a player may play the following shot anywhere on the fairway no closer to the hole. That is more fair because of the nasty lies in the trees on both 17 & 18. Just an idea, not sure if it would work due to the partially missing barbed wire on hole 16/18.

Derby for league tomorrow. Hope it isn't too muddy.
Re: Derby Course
The Tree that was down in the fairway of 18 during league this past Tuesday is being removed today, per Mike the Speer Chucker9
Re: Derby Course
Derby is getting concrete tee pads with the money coming from the KDGA, the Air Cap disc golf Club and the city of Derby. Work should be complete by next weekend. Number 6 and 7 tees have been moved as has #6 basket.
