about the signs, i would agree with the riverside people that signs would only clutter up the park. besides, the idea for painting them on the pad is a great idea that works and is unique.

I too like the painted signs on the tee pad. Unfortunately, they are subject to various levels of wear. Some are hardly readable one year later.

I am sure that this has been discussed, but if you paint the tee pads only paint the back 1/3, Lawrence painted the front with distances several years ago, there is still one tee that I will not shoot from the front of since it is still to slick. No need to ruin perfectly good tee pads with paint on the "rip zone" 8)

SuperQ - I know what you mean. 8) Several of us had ran into that problem at other courses. Because of that, we used a paint that is not slick on the pad. (Don't ask me what type; Bill or Roger could tell you) We have had absolutely no complaints about "slippage" because of the painted signs on these pads. :)
