Tourneys in Winfield
Re: Tourneys in Winfield
Correction to my schedule. I will be out there from about 4:30-5:30 today cleaning up the course alittle. I will be out there Friday from about 4:30 till dark setting up tee pad markers and then trying out the course. I would like input on one issue. It will be a rule that on or across paved road is OB unless you land on center strip(valley rules) which would make you safe. There are alot of dirt roads and I am not interested in designating certain roads ob or bunker or what ever. I want a blanket rule on all dirt roads. I have three choices: 1. OB 2. Bunker 3. Safe. I have heard likes and dislikes for all of them. I prefer Bunker but would like your opinions. Thanks

Re: Tourneys in Winfield
I think that making the dirt roads a bunker shot would be cool, but there is no definate line of where the road and grass begins and ends unless we paint a line or run some string. Do you still plan on playing the same tee pad and basket for the afternoon round? You could make an alternate tee pad for the afternoon round with a different shot towards the basket.
Never, under any circunstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxitive the same night.
Re: Tourneys in Winfield
As for the line on the roads it would just be up to the group to make the best decision that they can and go with it. That would be an insane amount of string or paint. I do plan on playing the same holes both rounds because I think the holes are real good holes as they are. I would like your input on helping set Junior pads on some of the holes. When do you think you can come out and talk on the course with me? I will be going to the football game tonight.

Junior Pads? Half those kids are better than I am.
I like Bunker shot, you shouldn't be in the roads, but they are a factor. I don't like OB because Cherry St. had so much OB. I won't be there though, so my ideas may not matter.

Most of the kids who could beat us will play up and not in Juniors. I think we will go bunker.

Hole 3: 3.44 2 Birdies
Hole 4: 4.33 3 birdies(par 4)
Hole 5: 3.19 3 Birdies
Hole 6: 4.07 4 birdies(par 4)
Hole 7: 3.15 1 birdie
Hole 8: 3.22 4 birdies
Hole 9: 3.07 3 birdies
Hole 10: 3.22 2 birdies
Hole 11: 3.70 0 birdies
Hole 12: 3.59 1 birdie
Hole 13: 3.48 0 birdies
Hole 14: 3.59 0 birdies

Hole 16: 3.14 4 birdies

Not sure I would have guessed 5 holes played easier than hole 8.

Re: Tourneys in Winfield
Don't think your numbers are all right.
I birdied hole 7 both rounds. Also, watched 2 people get a 3 on hole 6 the last round.
The reason hole 8 has a higher average is simple. More people took penalty strokes on it. You could be 30 feet from the pin and be OB if you were to the right. You could be 20 feet left and have to putt a UD. All the rest of the short holes, you could throw a bad drive anyplace in the park and still have a chance at a 3.

Re: Tourneys in Winfield
Your right, I wrote down your score from hole 8 for 7. There were 3 birdies on hole 7. Hole six is correct, I just looked the score cards and there were only 4 birdies.
