Sorry to have to write this- Calvin Priest was killed in an auto accident yesterday (I think). The funeral will be at the Methodist Church in Parsons at 4pm. Please keep Jeff and Brenda & Paul and Alice in your prayers; I am sure they are having a pretty rough time of it. Bill

I thought I would share a few of Calvin's words from his KDSS Application for Inspiring Player. Though I didn't get to know Calvin very well, it is easy to see that the kid had a big heart. I don't know of a more admirable attribute.
"A player that I look up to for inspiration would be my dad. He knows a tremendous amount about the sport of disc golf and other disc sports. So there is always something new to learn, or he is there to just help tweak your technique. He has been important to my technique. He has taught me just about everything in the game from throwing to scoring. My favorite saying from him is 'There's an unlimited number of different shots and different situations, so you need to equip your bag with as many clubs to make the shots. You can never have too many clubs nd you can add any at anytime.' He would always be saying, 'got to pull a new club out for this one.' As he has goten older, his arms and body are not what they used to be, but he has never quit. A few years ago he hurt his right arm, his throwing arm, and could not throw. So instead of just quitting, he learned to throw all over again with his left arm. He just put another club in the bag. No matter what, he will keep playing as long as no one stops him. This is why I am inspired by him. He has helped make me the person I am in this sport."
I voted for Calvin to receive the KDSS fund for 2008. I hope the KDSS, which Jeff Priest and Bill have given so much effort towards, can give a little support back to this family.
