Thought I'd present the latest offering from the club to keep you chucking plastic this winter. I know people are having trouble making it to Carey by 4:15, let alone getting to Buhler, and I figured doing this will give you a second option to play midweek league, (or if you're up to it, a third option of playing both). In fact, if anyone does both events, we will waive the club fee for glow, and it will only cost you $9.

I will be planning on running these. I have eight dates scheduled. I have ordered a box of flat LED lights and glow paraphernalia which I am currently waiting on FedEx to deliver to me today (and they'd better be here by 3:45 damnit). Sales of these lights will hopefully cover the costs of the sticks.

I will post a couple of these at the course, and possibly one in Buhler. I will bring this up at the league today, and if I can get out of bed on time, again at the Saturday league. If we could average five people at each of these, I'd consider it successful.

Hoping you can invest in a little hot chocolate (or other beverages that will keep you warm :D ) and be up for a little nighttime play this winter.

Along those lines, for weeks that we are not doing glow on Wednesdays (or at all), I am still open to the idea of a "delayed card" which would start at 5:00, and finish in the dark, basically making it a semi-glow round. This will likely mean two separate tag pools, and two separate payouts.

We can discuss both ideas at league today.

As you might expect, we did not have glow league Thursday night. (Was able to sell about 8 LED lights though). It was probably a blessing we didn't because it started snowing around 7. That league will be rescheduled for next Thursday, December 12th 6:00 PM at Carey.

Also the December 18th Wednesday event in Buhler, will be moved up from 7:00 PM to 6:00 PM, or whenever we get done with 4:15 league. I may opt to put lights on the baskets as we do the second pass at 4:15 league considering we're going to probably need them to finish the round as it will almost be solstice time.

Hope you guys can make one or both of these.

Just wanted to post a friendly reminder. Glow at 6 PM tonight if we can manage a crowd (and I would consider four people a crowd). I will be down at the course around 4.

If you have people who might be interested, LRDGC members or not, shoot them a text.

We drew one. Me. I stayed until 6:30 before I packed it in. I had Christmas shopping to do anyways.

Wasn't all for not though. I think I've found the best way to illuminate baskets. I'll demonstrate on Wednesday.

Just wanted to point out that we will be having glow rounds scheduled after the next two league nights. This Wednesday at Buhler (rescheduled from last Thursday), and the following Wednesday at Carey (possibly back nine only). Both will start at approximately 6:00 or when regular league is completed. Pray for good weather.

Hate to make an announcement this late, but just wanted to pass on that we will be running glow tonight after league if anyone wants to stick around. I may flashlight up the back nine before league starts. We may just do that twice, or if by some miracle we have a large enough showing, I may glowstick up the front nine and we'll do the whole course.

See you all in about an hour.

No we won't. For reasons that should be all too obvious. We'll try again on 2/19 in Buhler.

Weather permitting. :D

I do want to point out that tonight is the last night of this that I have scheduled. DST starts this coming weekend and we're going to have more daylight in the evening soon.

Buhler was a success all three times, but none of our Carey events have ever panned out, but I'll be in the parking lot around 6 if anyone wants to play. Still some lights for sale. After tonight, I will probably keep a few for myself and sell the rest to Darren at cost for the club box.

Along those lines, I also have 36 standard size green glow sticks for sale. $7 gets you nine of them. $12 gets you eighteen, and I'll part with the whole lot for $23. I also have plenty of yellow and green 5mm glow bracelets like the ones we used for the first Buhler event. 20 cents each. Six for $1. For $3 you can do your own 18 hole shoestring budget glow round. Anyone can let me know here or at league if they're interested.

Just a thought, we could always move Buhler league to a later starting time for the weeks we want to do glow.
