How many of you push putt versus throwing the disc?

I am always suprised when I see what looks like pros or experienced ams throwing putts like backhands, with spin, instead of push-putting. I'm wondering what you pros usually do for putts?

What is a push putt?

What kind of putt does Smitty and LaRon use? That's what I want to learn, it just looks so effortless yet goes so far.

I don't know what my putt is? I think it may have to much spin to be a push putt?

That's what I was going to say about my putt! All I know is when my putt is on, I can't miss, but when it is off, I can't even hit chains. I really would like it to be on more! Not many have seen that!

Rodney has a push putt, and he usually putts well! He is about the only one I can think of that uses a push putt.

Everyone has some of each.

Advantage to push putting is both keeping your shot straight and limiting the distance if you miss completely.

Advantage to spin putting would be having the correct height and also having a good range.

Oh, and I've also learned that just because you know how to putt well doesn't mean you can do it!

Shoenhumper.. I have seen some of your putts travel about 30 ft, and not make a full rotation. Even push putts have to spin to some degree.

I have seen many different putts work, but the best putter I have ever witnessed was Cam Todd. His push putt is text book if you ask me.

I personally use the push putt.

Putting is all about physics, imaginary lines, and perception calculations. If your release is consistent, build from there. Start about 8-10 feet out, watch your release, not the chains. When you nail it everytime move back, keeping your release hand in your peripheral vision. If the release is on, the putt is on. Everyone should have a unique putt. If you spin or push, it just has to be consistent. Also, make notation of the natural movement with your off putting hand and your backfoot. They assemble the imaginary putting line. Most people will say your foot needs to be at a 90 degree angle from the basket. I say find your own angle. Try to be gracefull like a ballet dancer, and before long, you'll find your putt.

I can't putt worth a crap unless I find the line, but when I find it, you'll see me saving pars!

I really don't know what I do, but I love to watch ol' Ben Maass putt, very aggressive. When he is outside of 30' it seems to be more like a line drive,
which he seems to nail quite often.

You know they say running backs who dance ballet have amazing footwork. Are there any big name DG's who have professional ballet training? Ballet dancer's could pick up the game fast.

I throw line drives with massive spin, if I miss i usually always hit metal. I prefere it over the push putt especially in the wind. I push putted for 4 years inside 30, since I quit I hit 75% more putts. My scores have averaged about 7 strokes better at Wichita league and, I almost always cash  Advantage Spin line drive Putt
