For 2007-Upside down Gumbputt anyone?

As for the poll, which was your favorite to use for the ace race?

Did you put any in your bag for regular use?

I use the breeze. Its a great turnover disc that goes way right and farther the a putter, but shorter than a mid. Good slow speed straight flyer trouble disc also.

The meteor seemed kinda the same type of disc. Maybe a bit slower and more controlable?

The glide was a fippy unpredictable turd imo. Some people threw it with great success though.

I don't know what the slipstream had to offer.

The new disc looks cool.

Well since I have only been playing since the 06 Ace Race, I really only have one disc to choose from. I still have several Meteors and had quite a bit of sucess with them. I just took it out of my bag cuz I found the Stratus to be more predictible and a much better roller.

The Breeze has been a good disc for me. I like it for short straight low shots, and bigger turnovers. It really stays in the air a long time, but is very slow. Trying to replace it with a beat Challenger! So far so good. Every time I think about the Breeze, I throw the Challenger. I can throw the Challenger further, and can see the line better than the Breeze. But it is not as consistent as the Breeze, yet! Still workin. Just trying to carry fewer molds.

In order from best to worst on the ACE Race discs.

1- Buzzz - Most people never had a chance to throw it as an Ace race disc, myself included.

2- Meteor - It is nothing more then a super flippy buzzz. Take an ESP Buzzz, throw it for a year, you have a Meteor.

3- Breeze - I personally didn't like it. Of the remaining 3, I see more people throwing it.

4- Glide - More of a driver then the other ACE racers. Super flippy and not very useful in Kansas.

5 - Slip Stream - Crap! Crazy design didn't feel good in the hand. The only thing I would do with this disc is give it to a new player.

On a side note. Why are all the Ace Racers flippy? Lets come out with a Pig Ace Race disc. The Drone would have been perfect.

I would also like to see a Challenger without a bead (Warlock). That would be a nice addition to the line.

The Buzzz was an Ace Race disc? I thought it debuted in the One Disc Challenge?

Didn't the Buzzz and the Ace Race Breeze come out the same year?(2003) Thats the impression I got, thats(2003) when the F.R. Buzzes were run.

Right? No?

One disc challenge is basically what started the Ace Race.

They have had many other discs for the challenge. Thumb Grip Surge was anohter.

So technically it wasn't an Ace Race disc. The Breeze was the first official Ace Racer

A simple "Yes Anakha, you're the man, The Buzzz wasn't an Ace Race disc, I stand corrected." would have sufficed.

Just Kidding!

Off topic, was the Ultra-Grip ever PDGA approved? I e-mailed Discraft, but they never replied. I dig it, and would be cool to see a Z Buzzz with it.

Yes Anakha you de man!you do know your discs! On a different note 2007 Ace Race is supposed to be very similiar to a broken-in Storm (not as flippy as a stratus) a little bird told me! Since I like the thinner molds this sounds great . :)
I`ll find out about the Ultra-grip .

Hmmmm so this ace race disc should be between a meteor and a Stratus......... this could be a good thing

The Ultra grip was PDGA approved.Unfortunately the response was mild at best and the grips themselves hard to come by.I don`t expect to see grips anytime in the near future
Think more stable and faster Bangrrr

More stable and faster than the stratus would rock.

We're going to have an ace race in Salina. There should be details posted sometime soon.

The Central Kansas Flyers end of year party is on 9-15-07. This year we are going to have an ace race during the day, eat some BBQ, then have our traditional glow doubles.

If you would like to play in the ace race, let me know and I will put your name on the list. Know that once your name is on the list, and packages have been ordered it is yours. Ace race packages are $20.

We will do a pot luck for the BBQ, with the club buying all of the burgers, brats, or whatever we decide to do this year. I will get a list of things we need for the BBQ together soon. If you have something specific you would like to bring just shoot me a PM and I will get it down.

Glow doubles will be $5. If anyone hits an ace in glow doubles, they will be paid half of the Tuesday ace fund.
