Have one. Hate it. Ive given up on discraft drivers, apart from my Flick, that Ring so kindly mocked me about earliar on in the Thread. The only other discraft disc I use is a buzzz. The discraft discs chew up my hands and fingers, and I prefer not to tape up my hands before every round of golf. I dont have that problem with Innova, so Im sticking with them.superq wrote:Just get a Z pred and dont worry about what Innove is doing

Innova Star plastic...
Yea, I know im in Discraft country. Im from Topeka thou, so I learned with Innova plastic. I tried an avenger and a Wraith... I prefer the Teebird and Beast. Im not the biggest distance player right now cause I throw 2 finger.... if i power grip, its turnover city.... I need to learn to do this, but Im gonna wait til I move out of Emporia this summer, and have more time. I can muscle a beast 300-350 witht he 2 finger grip, so hopefully with some practice, Ill be able to bomb them once i move over to the power grip.superq wrote:If you like the champion wraith you really should try the Z Avenger. It is a great long range driver, predictable and fast. not to mention a little more easily accesable in your neck of the woods
Are you moving back to Topeka?
I learned on Innova too, but there is a point where you realize that you are better off to take advantage where there is an option and I do believe that Discraft is making a more solid product right now and they are listening to what people want instead of producing a star coyote..
As far as power grip goes I assume you are talking about a true power grip where the tips of all of your fingers are against the inner rim of the disc. I think grip on a driver is pretty flexiable, I only know a few people that really use a true power grip and most of them are antiques like OTTO and Duce, I throw a version of the fan grip and I know that Heddy does too. I think the point is that just becuase its what you know does not mean it is right.
Or at least the only way to do something.

Im in Topeka at least once a week. In fact Ill be there the whole weekend. My parents live about half a mile off the East side of the lake.
I threw sidearm for years, but threw my back out in January '05 so I had to start learning to throw backhand. I grip the disc with two pads on the inner rim, and I use my thumb funny when ive compared it to other people. I really arch it down, using the tip on the disc, rather than using the pad (bad musician habit), which I think is limiting my throwing distance, but I feel like it adds a bit of stability. Im gonna try moving away from that, and maybe add another finger under the disc.
I would agree that discraft is doing a better job, I just wish their product didn't tear up my hands. Id throw discraft if it weren't for that. Of course, I dont know if I could ever give up my Beasts.
On the Innova topic I did throw a Special Blend Orc this weekend I like it a lot I think I will pick a few up, they are quite stable and good glide I threw it from 17 tee at the lake on a dead line at 18 tee pad it turned just a little and caught the trees on the right of 18 pad, It is a good thing too cuz I threw it low maybe 10 feet of the ground at most and if it wouldnt have hit the trees it was lakebound for sure.
Its less I think a dollar less MSRP. The plastic really doesnt feel that bad, It is grippy and smooth I think it makes the disc a little faster than you think and the D is pretty good I threw the Tee-bird and beast last night they are both good. It is nice to see the competition between manufacturing companies, competetion drives innovation. I am really looking forward to what D-craft does next.
