I was throwing some discs for distance in the gusty north wind yesterday evening.

I threw the new star sidewinder, ch. sidewinder, pro wraith, ch. wraith, x tracker, x xs, ch. roadrunner, jk valkyrie, pro starfire, pro orc, old champ beast, 150 flick, and several others.

Being gusty and shifty, and only having thrown them together twice, I can't make any concrete determinations. After you throw so many drives in a row, your consistency taperes off. I think lighter weights would also get the most d, but I haven't yet dabbled with those too much.

The star sidewinder flew very similarly to the champion sidewinder. The grip is different, but I like the grip on both.

The champion roadrunner is a very cool disc. It's like a sidewinder with even more glide. The great thing about it is that it doesn't flip right out of your hand. The glide is emphasized at lower speeds, where it is the most crucial. Release it on a hyzer in a tailwind and the disc will go dead straight and will not stop going dead straight. No fade. Does discraft have a long d driver that can do this? I haven't yet thrown the spectra.

What really impressed me was the pro starfire and espescially the pro orc. I wasn't even giving them the full flight and they were cruising past the others. Maybe it is the grip of the pro plastic.

The champion wraith surprised me in being less overstable than the pro when both are new. The pro wraith is probably my favorite driver. You will need a new one soon if you abuse it though.

With a wind coming from straight behind me, I'm throwing understable discs with hyzer flip, bullet shots that do a skinny, long S curve. Now when the wind is optimal (from 7 O'Clock), the big anny is the way to get the d. Anyways, the wind is behind me and I bust out the wraith and throw them on a hyzer line to the right of my aim, instead of the slightly to the left. They went at least 95% as far as my longest throws. In other wind conditions, I'm sure they would have went farther. This disc should be illegal!

When you are throwing for distance in say a tailwind, do you throw a predator? Discraft makes many good overstable control drivers, but not many understable distance drivers. The crush and flash are good discs though. I guess every one doesn't like Innova because they make so many discs, but that is why they make so much more $$$$.

I would say they keep it simple, why carry 10 different discs that all can do the same thing :?:

Yes I do throw my Pred into a tail wind. "No flippy drivers"??? what about the Flash, X Crush, X Avenger, Talon, Wildcat, Tracker, Spectra, Venom, XS, XL, X2????? Innova might make more $$$$ than Discraft, but its just too bad that thats all they care about!

Come on people, there is not one company that is better than the other and there is not one disc that is made by one compnay that the other company doesnt make. It is all personal preference and except for maybe one or two people there is no reason why an individual should have so much hatred for another company. They have not done anything to you personally and there is no reason to bag on them. I just dont think it looks good on anyone to tear down another company, especially on most every thread that talks about a new disc.

If you like discraft then like them, but there is no need to tear down Innova every chance you get or vice versa. They both do good things for the sport and dont be fooled, both companies are in too making discs for the $$$ or they would not be in business.

Just my opinion
