McCabe wrote:So Q, your saying your "taking a break" from Discraft because they came out with the Slipstream? Wow, thats kinda wack isn't it? Discraft released the Slip, Banger, and GT Buzzz for beginners anyway.
Remember, Innova did come out with a Dragon, Star Stingray, Wolf, New Roc's....need I go on?
Not taking a break from the plastic at all, You know me, I have no deep loyalties to any manufacturer ( D craft is supperior right now) I am just backing off my stand on How much better they are.

Lets face it 99% of disc golfers are never going to get paid or any kind of sponsorship from a manufacturer, It only makes sense to throw what works best for you, now if the day comes that you do get a deal, well then you learn to adapt. I seem to remember the contents of your bag before you got hooked up 8)

I do think that D craft is making the best product right now, Innova is making a good come back though. I guess I am just a little touchy about the ace race disc.

So, is the Spectra like a Wraith? I really don't want to buy a Wraith! What is the equivilant in Discraft? Don't get me wrong, I still like Innova. Champion Wraiths cost too much (is there just a Champion Wraith, or are they all the $25.00 CFR variety)? Anyway, my bag is leaning toward Discraft, so might as well stay that way.

On the other hand, still throw the Champion Sidewinder, Champion Orc, Champion Roadrunner, Champion Cobra, Champion Rhyno (tried the Challenger in the wind and it floated right up over the basket. What's up with that? I know it's the thrower, but my Rhyno does not do that), Champion Aviar (until I can find an X-Challenger or a Z). I also have a G5i Demon. Need a Drone or something.

My Talon is my go to into the wind driver. The one I have now is more overstable than my Pred.

I am still in the "best of both worlds" kind of stage! :D

Don you might try the avenger in x or Z I would say they are about as close to a Wraith as you will get for right now... I loved the Z avenger, for me I could throw it with a baby Hyzer and it would flip up and flex for a lot of D :!:

I don't think there is a Discraft disc you can compare to the Wraith, I think the Z Avenger is more overstable, also it doesn't have a wide rim and has a bigger diameter.

But I've seen the question about comparing the Spectra to another disc alot, but I think the best description would be that it's a faster, more durable X-Crush, you can even put them side by side, the Spectra is similar, it just has a different bottom half, kinda flattened and a bead added.

Stability-wise that might be the closest comparison. The wraith is both longer and easier to control to me.

Champions wraiths are about $17. Star wraiths are about $14. Pro wraiths... $9.

I have an X-Crush in my bag. Tell me this... When they get beat up, do you lose distance with them? I can throw my Z Crush as far as anything, with a predictable line. My X Crush is flippy, but goes about the same distance. I am thinking it's not the mold... :?

Brand new the X crush will bomb on any angle that you throw it.

Once beat in, they are killer anhyzer discs. I also use mine for straight shots. Throw it easy with a tad of hyzer.

There is no substitute for a wraith. If you need a little extra challenge, though, I wouldn't buy one.
