May 10 - Star City Shoot-out in Lincoln, Nebraska

Post by bigchiz »

We are super excited about Dynamic Discs rolling into the Cornhusker State with their RV for a couple events. The connection of people involved in making this happen goes back a few years to when the Kansas Disc Golf Associoation would leave an opening in their OZ Tour schedule for the Star City Shoot-out and many Nebraska folks would make the annual trek to the Friz in Winfield, KS.

We've got course information online now. Estimated (Google map) distance is just over 8,000 ft. Two shots over the duck pond, one near the elk statue, another near the buffalo statue, one near the columns from the US Treasury, and a 700 ft shot down the sledding hill.

The Shoot-out discussion at nebdisc has the course map and more details. http://ow.ly/uOdxC

Representing Kansas at the Shoot-out! Shane Crissler took first place Open and got $530. Cory Obermeyer was just one shot out of cashing. JP McVey got third place in Intermediate.

It was a full field of 90 players and having awards hosted at Blue Blood Brewing Company, the title sponsor, was a big hit.

Huge thanks to Smitty and Cory for making a three day weekend and representing Dynamic Discs. Pretty sure this years Star City Shoot-out was the first filled sanctioned event in Nebraska.

Thanks for making the trip and hope to see more next year as we will likely be expanding to two courses.
