Nothing has been confirmed, but everyone is leaning towards a square off in the octagon during Beloit.

Basically the USDGC rep will be chosen by the player that has the top 5 best PDGA tournament performances. Smitty has all the details, I think he is about ready to post them.

You had the best showing at LSDiscs. Crispin had the best showing at Monkey Island. I'd guess you guys are the front runners.

I'd like to see it open to all PDGA rounds and not just rounds in KS. It makes no sense to me why those rounds are thrown out. If a person shoots a 1200 rated round it shouldn't matter where it happened, that person should be our rep.

Okay, Smitty doesn't want any help with this, but here is what I came up with.

This is NOT OFFICIAL, and just from my calculations and understandings of how things are going to work. Pure speculation.

R. Unruh...........1014.5 1 Tournament (2 rounds)
C. Carrasco ........996 2 Tournaments (4 Rounds)
B. Nelson...........971.5 1 Tournament (2 Rounds)
N. Martin...........962.5 1 Tournament (2 Rounds)

From my understanding, only your 5 Best PDGA tournament showings will count, so If you play more than five, your lowest rated tournaments will get dropped.

It is one of my duties as the state coord. to find a good way to pick a rep.
It is never an easy task and someone always has a "better idea" on how it should be done.

I am going to try and reward the person who plays the best at several Kansas events. People who are willing and able to travel will have plenty of chances. We don't have very many Pros that travel to even all the Kansas PDGA events. We have already had three this year and we have zero Pros that have played all of them, and only a handful that have played two of them.

I don't plan on getting to crazy or worked up about this, until after the GBO. There are 5 spots up for grabs there, and I think a couple of our Kansas Open players may be able to grab a spot there.

1) You must be a Kansas Resident
2) You must be current with the PDGA

I am going to average the round ratings of all the Kansas events a person plays. (Round 1 = 980 Round 2 = 1020 Event rating 1000) I will then take the persons 5 best events and average that, giving me the persons average. The person with the best number is in.

Events that have happened.
LSDiscs Wichita, WyCo, Monkey Island

Events still to happen.
GBO, Pitt, Capital City Classic, Little Apple, Duh Dah, Revenge of Money, DD Open all happen before Sept.

So do you have to go to at least 5 events as well? What if your 4 tournament average is 1015, and would be highest, but you didn't hit up the fifth tournament?

Are the two-day tournaments going to be weighted in any way?

BTW, my calculations didn't inlclude Wyco. Herberto and Arturo were the best KS finishers there. I doubt they will go to enough KS PDGA events to round out their 5 though.

A person will need to play at least 5 Kansas PDGA events. No, 2 day events will not count any more then a single day event.

If we don't have a Rep, by the time Sept. rolls around, I will go back to SC and play. :D

Here is how I am going to pick the Rep.

1) Must be a Kansas Resident
2) Must have a desire and means to play the USDGC.
3) Must play at least 5 Kansas PDGA events
-- I will figure the players average round rating for a tourney. The will give me a tourney average.
-- I will take a persons 5 best tourney averages. This will give me the persons qualifying average.
-- The person with the highest qualifying average will get the State Rep.

Here is the current "Watch List". Let me know if you would like to be added to the watch list.

Unruh
Crispin
Bo
Frank the Tank
Leo
Babbit
Nelson
Nate Martin

Here is the list of current Kansas PDGA events.
LSD-Wichita, WYCO, Monkey Island, GBO, GBOverflow, Pitt, LSD-CCC, Little Apple Open, Doo Dah, Cherry Street, Revenge of the Monkey, DD Open.

Any other Kansas PDGA events that happen before Sept. 1 will also be used.
