New exceptionally challenging course set on the Chickaskia river on tribal land just east of the Tonkawa Casino. Homemade baskets and concrete tees still in forms, the land makes up for a lot. Really a nice piece of property. The first 4 holes are truly bad to the bone. I think a re-design is needed as the tees are too close to the baskets in several cases (think Hays original), and crossing fairways cause some traffic and safety issues. The layout is long and scenic, and I think it will eat a lot of discs because of difficulty. Smitty, what does the design group charge?(I mean you!) I would like a professional opinion to back up my initial look. Right now with all the wet weather, mowing has been skipped so the grass is getting tall .Hole 1 is just behind (2 blocks east) the tribal casino on the tribal pow-wow and campgrounds area. Take the road on the north side of the casino!

I suggest calling ahead as there is no signage yet. Also bring bug-spray and waterproof shoes (a lot of spring fed wetlands on the hillside).

Josh is very interested in setting up a challenging recreational course that the kids can learn on and that he and the other enthusiasts in the area can be challenged by. Right now just a 9, further renovation should make this an 18 hole course ! Looking at a fairly short time period for the expansion. I'm pumped! This course is a lot closer to me than Ponca and although it is rough, I think it will be a gem. I took a few pictures and I will try to get them on line somewhere
