Anybody know anything about this Super Class? It's a new PDGA thing that allows you to use different larger discs and get rated rounds. I really know what the whole thing is about.

Maybe BOD Bob could shed some light, if you Wichitans ever communicate with him.

I guess it was introduced as Vintage class but has had the name changed. I guess you have to use discs larger than 24cm but not the Jaguar or Condor...?

Super Class events will be those where you play with larger discs with some other requirements that basically equate to a frisbee. Such as the Zephyr, Pulsar, Ultrastar, Sky Styler, Supernova...

I'm sure some will hate the idea, but others would love it. There are a lot of positives to the notion.

I think the motivation behind having these kind of events available would be that courses are becoming obsolete with newer disc technology. Par 2 holes just isn't golf. Slower discs w/ more difficult putting would make some of the easier courses challenging again. It also would draw interest from Ultimate players to disc golf. They are saying they will wave the $10 non PDGA member fee for UF members.

There will now be a definite distinction between FRISBEE GOLF & disc golf!

Mike, this was a one time event test to see how many ultimate players we could interest. The results are still out on whether doing this on a regular basis will become common practice.
