Mike just trivial pursuit, but looking at Las Vegas results was strange.Eric tied Steve Rico for 2nd place,but if you total round ratings points ,he was 4 points back 1/2 a stroke? I wonder how often this happens Thoughts?

1st round a stroke is 7 rating points.
2nd round same
3rd round Emac should be rated 1055?

1000 rated round was 66 for the first round, 70 the second, and 71 the third. I did notice several instances in the first round where two identical scores had different round ratings. I'm guessing they switch the rounds around to match the course rather than the round number.

From this it looks like 2 courses were played. This doesn't answer your question, just raises another.

Looking at the results a little closer:

1st Round: 1 stroke = around 7 2/3 points
2nd Round: 1 stroke = around 7 even
3rd Round: 1 stroke = around 6.5

Eric's highest rated round was the 3rd round where a stroke meant less, and his lowest was the 1st where it meant more. That probably explains the four points, although it averages out to 1.33 per round which is statistically meaningless.

Eric or Jeremy would have to confirm, but as far as I can tell, they only used one course, although they did stagger tee times. People who played in the morning probably saw vastly different conditions than those in the afternoon, therefore they segregated the divisions when figuring ratings.

Here's the course statistics from last year. Notice 8 different SSA's for only three rounds, often categorized by how much the wind was blowing. That might explain what you're seeing.

Good observation. The ratings master himself says that high winds vs. no winds usually only makes a 2 strokes difference. Here we have 4 and 5. There are 1.5 times as many holes though.
