Swope isn't in Kansas.
The best Kansas course is Jones East. It can jump up and bite you if you aren't careful.
Hays before the tree removal and disc technology.
Oak
Now I think there are a lot of courses that have some killer holes.
Jones East Hole 2, 6, 11 long, 12, 14, 16 long
Jones West Hole 18 long, 17 long and short, 16 long
Hays Holes 3, 8, 11, 12, 16 alt to reg,
The Rock over the pond and off the cliff
Grove 4 and 15
Long and Skinny in Ransom
The long hole in Manhattan
I think a better question may be what is the signature hole on every course in Kansas. Every course has atleast 1 cool hole.

I agree, the east course at Jones Park is one bad mutha. What are the toughest holes? 2, 11, and 14 on long? Those would be par 4's and there are quite a few par 3.5 holes. When its windy, that course will tear you up good. Lots of OB, espescially when stringed off.
Another reason it's such a good course is that it has a bunch of good features. Top notch quality signs and tees. Course and park are very well cared for. Couse has a ton of variety, including water and elevation changes. This course would score huge if it ever had a course eval.
The Rock and Hays rank up there for favorite tournaments.
Rosedale down under and the Canyon in Winfield are a couple of the funnest courses.
My favorite KS course has got to be Ted's Dread though. From the tips=almost par 70 for advanced. Tons of elevation changes, length variety, water, and trees. Ticks too.

My favorite Kansas courses would be The Rock or Frontier park.
My favorite holes would be Elmwood Park #1, Oak Park #18 , and Jones East # 4 when it is at long pin.
I think we all know the best courses. What are the worst courses? I personally hate Herington. It is short and easy, but I always seem to lose my head at that tournament.
My least favorite holes are Jones park west 17 (it steals from me), Oak Park #7 (I know mandos are for safety, but that doesn't mean I have to like them), and The Rock #15 (when you let me pick where the tee box is people can die.)

Hole 11 is a par 2.5. Everything funnels towards the basket. As long as you don't throw it too far, your usually parked. I've seen shots hit two trees and still get parked.
Longer courses are often more enjoyable to advanced or pro players. There are chances for 4 just as often as for 2. On really good courses, sometimes there are even par 4's and 5's. There are a few holes at Wyco that, when not roped off for OB, do give advantage to the longer thrower. But, there are a lot more holes that trees come into play out there than people think.
