Here are the details for the winner of the magazine proposal. It's a shame to see DGWN go, but this bid sounds really promising.

Perfect Binding??? Never in my dreams would I have......

Wow, 6 issues a year?? That doesn't sound too bad. I do hate to see DGWN go though :( I was very impressed with it....

Looks like they are not backing down from the standard DGWN has set. Even giving members the option of opting out. Seems like the PDGA is handeling the transition pretty well.

Thanks, this was a tough decision.Hopefully having 6 issues will help out in a number of ways:more current information ,more content in general being seen more times a year= easier for the publisher to find advertisers (besides disc golf merch.)This may get disc golf some more mainstream sponsors !

They made mention that the magazine will have a $4.95 newsstand price. I suppose I have to ask will the new magazine also going to be something that people will be able to buy at newsstands (and I mean newsstands in a general bookstore like Borders or B&N, not at a shop that sells golf discs). I really think getting a print publication out to the laymen of our sport would be a tremendous benefit into getting it to grow. Not everyone uses the internet.

In any regard, its a bit depressing to go into the local Hastings and see various magazines for every type of "boarding" (surf/skate/snow) imaginable, four different magazines for paintball, and magazines for sports and hobbies that I've never otherwise heard of, but not see a single publication dedicated to disc golf.

the publisher plans on doing exactly that. One thing that should be known is that the publisher has other magazines out on newsstands now!

Very good to hear. I think this could be a HUGE step forward.

I just received my DGWN last week. Rick said that the next issue will be the last.

I've really enjoyed the magazine. I hope the next one keeps the same high standards.

I'd be willing to bet if the next one doesn't keep the bar as high as DGWN as raised it, they won't be around long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rick and the gang don't need THAT much time off do they?????????????????
