Yea, the ACDGC needs some help, but noone wants to step up. I would, but I don't think anyone would be too excited about that.

I think Bob makes things more difficult than it should be when sending in TD reports. You'd think, since the scores were put in a computer there at the tournament, it would be relatively simple to transfer that info to the PDGA.

But, I've been around Wichita long enough to know that you can't set expectations too high when it comes to our club.

I can see the picture- not sure why you can't.
I can even see them when I'm not logged in.
I'll try something different though.

I can't see anything either. Unless you're trying to upload an icon with a piece of paper on it that's been run through a shredder.

Regardless of what goes on with the Wichita club, which really isn't even the topic of this thread. If you guys have a beef with the club or the people running it, elect new leaders. That is why you have a club with elected positions.

I does bug the crap out of me that Bob doesn't use the PDGA TD report. It does all the work for you, figures payout, is easily uploaded, figures total scores. This is a problem with every Wichita event, the results are late getting to the PDGA.

Basically what I am saying is use the tools the PDGA gives you. Cut your workload in half and make everyone happy.

I could go back into the forum and pull up the exact post that shows this happens every single time. I hate to admit it but for once I am in agreement with DUH.

The Roundup stuff is off to the PDGA

Post by Eaglehigh99 »

For all of your complainers, I have been working 60 to 70 hours per week for quite a while now and have had to pay attention to my business instead of disc golf. I was not even suppose to be the TD for the Roundup. I took time off of work to make sure it happened when we couldn't get enough local volunteers to help out. Ditto for what needed done after the tournament. Instead of playing, why don't each of you step up and volunteer next time.

Hell, I need to be working today but the deadline came with no offers of help so I had to take time from making a living and get it done by myself again.

I still can't get access to get this stuff posted to the website but have sent it to David and Karolyn at the PDGA and have asked them to get it done.

Next time, instead of bitching, step up and volunteer your own time. That includes Smitty too. I won't be around forever to make sure these tournaments and their paperwork get done. Someone else needs to decide that their time can be donated to try to give you complainers a good tournament to play in, etc.

I will gladly run both Wichita events if you want me to.

Or if you don't have enough help, let Rusco and the DD crew run the event. Raising money for sponsorship could be a problem, but I bet Jeremy could figure out some deals to help with the raising of funds.

I am sure he would even give the Club a kickback for all of their efforts dealing with the City.

I am sure we could maybe fill that sucker?

Bob I was just stating the facts. The same complaints come up every time there is a PDGA event in the Air capitol.

It's interesting that we have two people who didn't even take time to show up complaining about the tournament. Must have too much time on your hands.

We are short volunteers and I am working over 60 hours a week. The PDGA site will be updated ASAP. Those that chose to attend have all of the information already. I will post some summary info on this site tonight.

These are as far back as I could find on the KDGA forum.

Bob I don't want to start a battle with you over this. You do a good job running the events, nobody is debating that. Both of your events are right up there in Kansas events. Both of your courses are right up there with the best courses in the state. I would just like to see the results posted sooner, just like the PDGA expects all events to do.

Lack of volunteers

Post by Eaglehigh99 »

Smitty:

As far as I'm concerned here, you are only a small part of the problem but a part of it none-the-less. Instead of bitching on the internet (which I had to hear about from Ron), you could be calling or e-mailing me personally and offering to help. Instead, you bitch on the internet without getting all of the facts. I have asked you many times to contact me directly instead of being an enabler to those that wish to complain instead of help. Instead of spending your time doing that, give me a call and offer to help. That way instead of spending your time being a part of the problem you become part of the solution.

The main problem is that we get little help from the majority of the disc golfers around here. Those few that do try to help often quit because of the lack of support they get and the constant complaints that they have directed their way because things don't go as others would like.

People fail to remember that all of this runs because people voluntarily spend their precious free time doing things for the benefit of all disc golfers (including those that choose to complain instead of volunteer their own time).

I told the ACDGC board that I would not run the Roundup shortly after the Doo Dah this year. I don't have the time because of challenges with my business. Nevertheless, when we couldn't get the volunteers we needed, I said I would step in to make sure it happened. The thanks I got, even when we had computer problems that made me finish payouts by hand and even though the PDGA website was down, was to hear the standard bitching with no offers of help.

As far as I'm concerned, I should have been thanked for running the tournament instead of working as I should have that day. But "NO", instead of thanks, I get complained about on the internet instead of to my face. Instead of complaining on the internet, their time would have been better spent by offering to help.

Hopefully, you and they will remember that next time instead of running to the computer to complain.
