Sandbagger Detection Formula
I've done some figuring myself and I've come up with my own formula.....NOTJBM+NOGSISHM-NOTIBT=JSSOOMD
Let me simplify.
Number of times Josh beat me
+
Number of good shots I've seen him make
-
Number of tournaments I've been to
=
Josh should stay out of my division

If you are trying to say that the dubai desert classic isn`t smaller than the masters, you need to do some research.mrsenortyler wrote:Smaller Tournaments? I don't think Tiger plays any "small" tournaments. Just look at his schedule this yearFriz-Rocker wrote:Just as Tiger is a sandbagger when he plays smaller tournaments.
When you have to choose between your woman and discgolf, don`t be stupid-choose the discgolf.
The standards are fine. You're just getting a lag in rating behind your actual ability due to the fact that you only have seven rated rounds under your belt. Here they are in chronological order:jtkustomizer wrote: Time to move up but PDGA seriosly needs to get there standards looked at.
Frontier Round 1 - 890
Frontier Round 2 - 883
Frontier Round 3 - 873
DDO Round 1 - 898
DDO Round 2 - 893
Round-Up Round 1 - 938
Round-Up Round 2 - 905
Even in that short span you can see improvement, (although some of that significant jump at the Round-up is due to the fact that you were familiar with the course).
I figure if you average 910 or better at Wyco, your rating will hit the 900 mark next update.

Sorry about the picking, but it seems like you are trying to prove a point that is dead wrong in most everyone else's mind.
That is to say, you shouldn't have to be able to win pro to feel confident about moving up to intermediate.
Your game is a lot better than it was a year ago, so its not really fair to evaluate your play for the entire last year in intermediate.
The last 3 tournaments and the last 4 of 6 tournament you did or would have cashed in intermediate. That shows you are an UPPER level intermediate player. I know that by the PDGA standards, you would rank a little lower.
A lot of people play two different divisions. For example, I play PDGA adv. and KDGA pro. It is a pretty good system. For you though, it would be more appropriate to do int/adv than rec/int.
Many have said it any it is true: if you really want to be a better player, play with better players. A good example of this is Bo Carrasco. He was an 11 handicap only 2-3 weeks ago. Since he has been playing pro at league, he is now a scratch golfer, with several under par rounds.

My game hadnt even started a year ago mike...I started playing in april. I played for 2 months with just one disc and then bought a bunch of discs just for the Doo Dah. By the way I started with a 166 DX Shark.Schoen-hopper wrote:Your game is a lot better than it was a year ago, so its not really fair to evaluate your play for the entire last year in intermediate.

So mike since you and others play down one division at PDGA events and its ok for you to do it. Why are you giving me so much trouble for doing the same....I think there is a rule that if you cash as a pro/open player you should stay in the open division....but this only counts at PDGA events right. so thats why you play advanced at PDGA is because you are bagging yourself.
The way I look at it we are in the same boat....SS Sandbaggers R.US
Sounds to me like you are a hypocrite and should look in the mirror.(as well as others myself included)
I also plan on playing Int. at colwich this weekend.
I just signed up for Wyco in Novice because thats where my ratings put me.

Your Right Mr. MOthrows.
I think I had fun just starting all of this.

You have skewed the facts since the beginning of this discussion. The facts are you have cashed or would have 12 times in a row in rec. Now you are cashing and winning in intermediate and want to move back down. You can't really defend against that and really shouldn't try to.Schoen-hopper wrote: A lot of people play two different divisions. For example, I play PDGA adv. and KDGA pro. As far as myself, my rating puts me toward the bottom of advanced. Yet I play pro for the majority of tournaments. That isn't being a bagger.

basket_case wrote:You scared me for a second, Josh. I thought you were going to play adv. at Colwich. That might put a damper on the challenge.
BTW, you didn't answer my question about the aces.
I have 4 aces so far. and all of them are at oak.
1. Hole 18 over the water 297 ft with Champion Beast BH
2. Hole 2 Short 228ft with Star Wraith Flick
3. Hole 4 short 303ft with Star destroyer BH Skip
4. Hole 11 long 219ft with an ace race impact BH...League ace worth $350
I feel lucky on my aces because some people have been playing for years and havent even got one yet.
